MODs for Idiots ?

Post » Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:54 am

I have played Oblivion and am now 600+ hours into Skyrim and have never used a MOD.

I would like to try one now but have no clue about enabling software that needs to be installed or in what order this should be done.

I have downloaded the zip files for Wray Bash, NMM, SKSE and the MOD I want to try.

I have no clue about how these interrelate so haven't unzipped anything to this point.

I still have a couple of slide rules around so could use some help in easy to understand terms.

Thanks

Use either WB (preferred) or NMM (better not), SKSE is mandatory, as for the mod, either install it with WB (it's automated) or manually then you are good to go. By the way how did you manage to check in 600+ hours WITHOUT mods? I got bored of Vanilla Skyrim after 35 seconds before installing my first mod :)

This may be for Oblivion, but it still largely applies to Skyrim: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/

Steam Workshop->Subscribe->Launch Skyrim from Steam

If you're feeling adventurous you could always register an account on Skyrim Nexus, download the client, and use that.

No point learning how to use WyreBash, kinda pointless for Skyrim unless you have over 254 mods installed.
