Mojave Outpost trader dealings CTD

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 2:06 am

I couldn't find this subject posted anywhere else, so I thought it should go here.

Three times in a row, I quick traveled to the Mojave Outpost to sell off a HUGE amount of stuff I had picked up. Upon arrival, I noted that there was at least one wandering merchant present, so I figured I'd unload a couple thousand caps of crap (I'm a Hoover vacuum cleaner type player) on the merchant. Open trading and increased my stock of ammo and Caravan cards while dumping a LOT of books and cups and junk. Concluded the back and forth, but when I clicked on "Accept", I Crashed-To-Desktop. It happened three Loads and crash in a row, so I figure I'm looking at a persistent bug. Like, I'm guessing that per the storyline, the trader caravans are stuck at Mojave Outpost and so are there purely as background graphics and if you try to make them function as traders, it highlights a hole in the plotting, so the program crashes.

Anybody beside me encounter this bug?

I have not encountered this bug, but have you tried selling less at a time? If the problem persists I might recommend lowering your graphics to "Low" and see if either of those solutions have an effect.

It has to deal with the cards. Anything else is fine. It's not the merchant himself, it's the Caravan cards. I even confirmed it in-game. It's an inventory bug, what it seems like. I purchased anything else except for the cards and accepted and everything was fine.

Good to know! Thanks for the link! (Now I don't feel so "special". LOL)

Because this bug is soooo localized, I would expect that the next patch _should_ fix it. If not, I'll just skip buying Caravan cards.

[BTW, I _think_ when I was buying the Caravan cards, I didn't have any in my Inventory already, as I had stashed them all elsewhere with most everything else I didn't want to cart around. (Makes more room for additional loot!)]
