Mooch Leveling!? Sign me up.

From Game Informer's official ESO thingy:

Zenimax Online is going out of its way to make sure helping someone else out always benefits everyone. For instance, there’s no “tagging” and so helping a random stranger kill a monster results in both of you getting full credit.

---- Full Credit ----

If that's true, it could mean it would be a completely viable leveling method to run around and doing a quick, small instant spell on every mob you see that someone is attacking. Also, once at max level, find a crowded area, assign the abilities you want to level on your hotbar, and run around tagging mobs. Since they're "active" they'll progress every time a tagged mob dies.

I'm going to level to 50 without a single personal kill, lol.

This is news to me, but yet again I haven't been reading much into TESO.

I can already see a lot of fast leveling on launch day!

Doubtful. It was stated you have to do at least a certain amount of damage think it was 20% to the mob to receive any credit. Its also unknown how much credit you'll get based on your contribution.

Group up with 20 friends, find an ability that DOTs, and just run around like maniacs --- nothing will survive more than a couple ticks... could be fun.

You have to do a certain % of the targets health before you get the credit for it. We aren't sure exactly how much it is, but you can't just hit the target once and run away and get full credit, or putting one DoT on it.

I haven't seen anything aside from this article that states "full credit" - and from all the interviews I have read and heard, it seems like this is possibly how it will be. They state that there won't be "stolen kills" so at the least, the original attacker will need to get 100% exp/etc --- I'll read more and see what I can find about the "helping" player.

There are about 200 professionals working at Zenimax, about 10 hours a day. Many of them are doing this job for more than 20 years.

The game is developed for over 6 years now.

And you really think they don't get something so obvious that you realized it after 10 seconds?

Seriously?

It's a great system that promotes social gameplay. In WoW one would always hate seeing another player run up and take quest mobs. In a game like GW2 or ESO with a system like this you don't have that issue. I always look forward to seeing other players.

It'll be like GW2. Good system, nothing you could exploit too hard but also felt rewarding.

If that's really that appealing to you... :ermm:

I wonder if they'll include statisics like how many times you've died or how many enemies you've killed. Oh wait, I don't care.
