Morag Tong!

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:50 pm

Since TESO is going to take place within the second era/common era do you think we will get to interact with the Morag Tong or better yet become a member of the Tong?

If we can become a member do you think it would be limited to the Ebonheart Pact since they will be closest to Morrowind?

It would be a pretty awesome story line to either see the formation of the Morag Tong or the evolution into the dark brotherhood.

I am not posting a poll on any of these questions/statements. I just wanted to offer some discussion since we have about .00001% of information on the final product of this game.

Any thoughts?

They said Dark Brotherhood would be coming into game later on (just not at release), so guessing that will be the guild we (later) can join.

The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guilds come after launch. The Fighters Guild and Mages Guild quest lines are both in for launch, but the other two more “shadowy” guilds will be added soon after the game goes live.

With or without an NPC faction version of The Morag Tong, you can always join us... (check my sig)

That said, since The Morag Tong is illegal in this time period, I think it's a good chance we'll see them during NPC questing, hopefully not as enemies!

Skyrim was 4th Era.

He's saying that if te Dawnguard organization appear in TESO (in the second era, when this game takes place), then the Morag Tong will appear in the game as well.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Morag_Tong
The Morag Tong is an ancient guild of assassins headquartered in Morrowind, celebrating murder in the name of Mephala.
They have been active since at least the First Era, and their targets have included multiple rulers of Tamriel, high-ranking Dunmer nobility, and countless others.
The Morag Tong is unique in its sanctioned status under the Morrowind government to perform legal executions, bound under contracts called 'writs', although extralegal 'gray writs' are rumored to exist.

Although, Elder Scrolls assassin guilds in general without any realisme in an open world PvP setting, I really don't know how they will implement that without using the FFA feature with laws.

Skyrim was 4th Era.
Dawguard already exist in second era :
The history of the Dawnguard is vague and surrounded by rumors and hearsay. What is known however is the group was formed in thehttp://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Second_Era by the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Jarl of http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Riften_(City). The Jarl's son, through his overly confident and adventurous pursuits, contracted http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Vampirism. The Jarl refused to kill his own son, so instead commissioned the construction of a fort and contracted a large mercenary force, branded the "Dawnguard", in order to keep his son quarantined.

Some say the Dawnguard had to put the Jarl's son down and were banished from the hold. The Dawnguard however continued their work as vampire hunters, until they broke up, due to the fact people increasingly disregarded the threat of vampires, weakening the power of the Dawnguard.http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnguard_(Faction)#cite_note-0

Others claim that the Dawnguard, upon seeing the immense power of a vampire, decided to become vampires themselves. They were said to have preyed on the Rift until they were hunted down.http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnguard_(Faction)#cite_note-1

Rumors say that the Dawnguard were disliked because of their abuse of power as they went on nightly raids and pillaged small villages without any probable cause.http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnguard_(Faction)#cite_note-2

I bet the original DG storyline will come in to play too then. If they play their cards right, and implement lore correctly, some really interesting quests could be in TESO future. We might even get to see the Septim dynasty rise to power. A possible meld into Arena. Very interesting storylines in the works.
