No more games from Bethesda this gen?

Obsidian should be allowed to handle Fallout 4. That way if the Enclave is in it they would be a playable faction instead of an army of laser-toting Dremora bad guys.
I don't think they'd ever be or should be a playable faction. The only chance of that is if our PC is born into them or we're their pawn for whatever reasons. They'd also need to become pretty powerful again.
I like them as remnants in Vegas and how even a group of pensioners are so dangerous - Chicago is that last hope for them returning to a powerful state and even at that they'd need to change their approach if they're to survive.

Do you like seeing them die over and over?
They should be the heroes of the next Fallout.
I don't need the Enclave as some mass murdering bunch as before, I'd want to see for example them continuing in Col. Autumn's spirit and starting to co-operate with the Wastelanders. Restoration of the Federal Government is all that matters.

In an interview way back before Skyrim was announced Todd described how insanely tough it was to make Oblivion for a console that was still in development. Considering that, I would be surprised to see them doing it again with their next game (I figured they'd squeeze it into this cycle too), but maybe they feel they're more prepared now.
I could've sworn in an interview after Skyrim was announced Todd said they were considering making it (Skyrim) for the next generation. If that's the case I think it's way more likely that Fallout 4 (or their next game) will be made for the next generation.

I never really seen anything in Autumn besides Eden's henchman - I've been meaning to redo Fallout3 to see what the conflict inside the Enclave was. Never understood why the robots turned on the soldiers either when I was escaping.

Proper post-launch support > Frequent game releases

Just look at Terraria, the only reason so many people are still playing is because it got excellent post launch support... which is something many AAA game devs often forget

I doubt we'll see another Fallout until next generation consoles, perhaps it's better that way.

So you'd rather want a rushed game released in the next 1-2 years than wait 3-4 years and get a really good and polished game?

Duke Nukem Forever took 12 years, length doesn't mean it's going to be good.
It's hardly rushed, it's been over 3 years and 4 month since Fallout 3. And a game was reportedly in pre-production while Skyrim was being developed so if it is indeed Fallout 4 then they've had plenty of time. I did say before that I'd like them to spend 3-4 years on the game and indeed that's were we are at now.
In August 2010, Todd Howard revealed in an interview with Eurogamer that Bethesda was working on two projects; one had been in development for 2 years (beginning after Fallout 3 was released), and the other was still in pre-production

you can't really compare this to Duke Nukem Forever, that project was doomed from the moment they decided to change the engine (the first time)

I'd rather see them release their next game on the new console generation, with all the advantages that the extra power brings, than on the edge of the current one.

And TES 6 after that, and all the other next-gen games.. :/
You'd actually want to play another TES game after the crap that was Skyrim? I guess this is for the better. By the time Obsidian is allowed to make another Fallout game the next gen consoles will be dirt cheap.

The Bethesda writers are working on it...might as well crush your dreams now rather than waiting for them to be crushed later. Enclave are supah bad mmm'kay dey must be keeled.

Yes I would, because I personally think Skyrim is a much better game than morrowind and oblivion combined, in some way. It does, however, lack in some areas, but then again every single game out there lacks something. There's no way it could not appeal to me. A huge open world fantasy game. The only reason I wouldn't buy TES 6 was if it was a linear dungeon crawler.

Personally, I suspect that it'll be longer til the next gen of consoles than many people think/hope.

And then, of course, there should still be a year or so of releases for the old gen, as X360/PS3 projects continue to finish up after the PS4/X720(?) comes out. (based on how to PS2/PS3 transition went.)

There was only 6 years between the release of the PS2 and the PS3 though.

That's one of the problems I see with the late releases of the new consoles, by the time they come out I think game development will have completely switched over to next gen, so you won't be able to get by with just a 360/PS3.

Bethesda doesn't utilize potential anyways, so I have a feeling the only upgrade in their next gen games will be of the graphical nature.

I wouldn't, I still haven't finished Fallout 3.

Not me, unless Bethesda really improves on their character depth and the charm of the world. Fallout 3 was made to look grim but at least it's characters had a dark sense of humour about them.

I'm not sure how they managed to make skyrim have all the stuff people asked for but ruined the player interaction with the world.
