In your opinion graphics aside is gameplay of skyrim more like oblivion or more like morrowind?

There is some Morrowind vibe to it in certain occasions, but it's mostly like Oblivion in its gameplay.

I I would say its more similar to Oblivion for better and worse.

The game world is similar to Morrowind only in that its less generic than Oblivion.

The style of game (Mostly action with a few RPG tack ons) is like Oblivion but more so.

The combat is like Oblivions but better.

The difficulty and complexity is like Oblivion but more so.

Just my thoughts ;)

Aesthetics mostly, and some of the "political" storyelements gave me a slight Morrowind vibe.

I don't even get a hint of morrowind in here, other than the dwemer ruins. The game world is pretty much just as generic as oblivion.

The world is darker like Morrowing. And so are the quests plots most of the time :)
Which is goood! Oblivion was so generic boring fantasy that everything is bright and sunshine while Skyrim has a much much darker feel.

I think Skyrim has the best of both worlds. The world is just as detailed and immersive as Morrowind, but has all the modern touches from Oblivion (but much improved). In fact, I think the world is more detailed than Morrowind - I've found probably twice as many books, notes and touches of "lore" than I ever saw in Morrowind.

ok i gotta chime in here.. the reason for this is theyve been reusing books from morrowind in both oblivion and now skyrim. Maybe books even go back to daggerfall , i wouldnt know that.
so in conclusion morrowind has more original writing.

I doubt that. Every dungeon I've been in has had lots of unique writing, not just on paper, but on the walls, on tombs, on fixtures, on doors, etc. When I say "writing", I'm including much more than just the paper.

After just a few hours in Morrowind you easily start seeing the same books over and over again all over the place. In Skyrim, I find new stuff to read in each and every location I visit.

Also, you've just validated what I said.

Morrowind has books only from Morrowind.
Skyrim has books from Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion + tons of new writing in Skyrim.

Simple math dictates that the number of writing in Skyrim beats the pants off of Morrowind.

My inventory has about 50 books and other writings in it. I never had even close to that number of books in Morrowind in my inventory.

I disagree with this so much that I'm not even sure if you're being serious. I feel the exact opposite way.

Skyrim is more like Morrowind than Oblivion. It offers a very unique land that feels massive and real. There's a lot of reason to explore just to find little things here and there. I felt it improved upon everything Oblivion got wrong, as well as some things that Morrowind got wrong.

Calling Skyrim's game world "generic" is just flat out wrong.

what I trying to say was that morrowind was at a disadvantage in your argument. Simply because they didnt or couldnt reuse lots of books from earlier games (and that i've already read them all recently while playing morrowind, so they might not be as interesting as new writing ). What I was comparing were original new writing in both morrowind and skyrim. Then again I don't have hard numbers of books in any of the games.
So far I'm finding alot of new writing but also some of the greats from morrowind and elsewhere , which I don't mind at all. In the end it adds to the great feel of the game with so much litterature.

I'm pretty sure that several of the booksellers in Morrowind have more than that in their inventory, and they only carry a small selection (Jobash in Vivec has a slightly larger inventory of "rare" books). Counting just the "series" books, like Vivec's lessons, the multi-part History of the Empire, various travel guides, and the numerous multi-part adventures like those about Argonia and the "Barenziah" series (plus the "Real Barenziah" versions), that's pretty close to 50-100 right there, if not more. The huge numbers of individual topics have got to top 100 more at minimum.

I recall perusing the books in the various Mages Guilds in Oblivion, and it was mostly the same dozen books over and over. The booksellers had more, but only 1/4 the selection that they had in MW, probably due to the annoyance of scrolling through them all on a console.

A number of books made their way from DF to MW, although several had to be edited for the "mass market" audience (mods restored a few to their original form). Many of the books in MW reappeared in OB, but most of them didn't.

The question was about the gameplay. Skyrim is more like Morrowind in regard to world and setting and feel. The gameplay mechanics on the other hand, are even further away from Morrowind than Oblivion.

"Oblivion 2.0" was actually also my initial reaction to skyrim...

The Wikia pages have 281 actual books in Morrowind as opposed to 270 in Skyrim (not including skillsbooks of which there are more in MW). I'm not sure if both lists are complete but its a relatively reputable source as far as TES games go.

In terms of actual readable content including notes it's not entirely clear. I wouldn't be surprised if Skyrim has more given the size of the worldspace.

Still, reading up before making sweeping statements is advisable in future.
