More paeople please

Most of cities seem too empty. In windhelm I haven't actually counted but it seems like theres only about 15 people moving around outside. I'd like to see like an Assassins creed sort of constant people just flowing along. they don't have to all have a crazy misc. quest or whatever or even say anything. It would feel much much more real I think

yeah thats like the ONLY good thing about assassins creed games they felt like massive cities. Too bad Assassins creed is pretty much like call of duty, they come out with the same game every year thats slightly modified with shallow gameplay.

But one good thing about ES is that every npc has a name and a place in that town.

If somebody does a mod where you can teach Bards some Barry White tunes, the problem will eventually fix itself

Yes. This is a problem. Not only do cities appear overly vacant. Countryside is as busy as switzerland. I do know there's a Civil War going on - though not that many signs of it - but people would have to travel, even if only within their hold.

Let's cram a ton of people in.

Then we can have a lot of threads of people complaining how there's not enough places for people to live and work and it ruins their immersion and so on.

Do you really think it's fine as it is?
SKyrim's major cities are but villages, where lack of bachelors pushes cousins to marry each other and thus have kids with piglet tails due to genetic overrsampling.

I've been there.
And a relative of mine has lived there for 40 years now.
She tells me all about it.

Yup, dead as a cheerful graveyard.
Boring as an used up train ticket.

if with boring you mean that people dont get robbed, [censored] and shot in the streets than yes i agree...your relative must really hate it to only spend 40 years of her life there

Swiss chocoltes are great...and...their world famous cuckoo clocks, well...they're great too. :D
My relative loves it there. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I'd die of boredom though. :D

Indeed cities seem hollow, but at least people are not walking around in circles all day with nothing do, like in Oblivion.
In Skyrim if someone is out on the street, he is there for a reason.

P.S. In Latin grammar paeople would still be pronounced people, in a way. The diphthong "ae" along with "oe" is pronounced as a long "e".

Are you willing to trade framerates for more people? If so how much of a performance hit are you willing to take for more people? Would you be happy with nameless generic cardboard cutouts?

You bring up a vey good point.
But TES VI will undoubtedly come out on XBOX Next nd PS4, so maybe the tradeoff won't be that steep.
NPCs could be grouped in 3 categories:

- Generic NPCs. They walk around doing their chores. They greet you and might give the time of day but that's it. They are there to deepen the atmosphere. This would be the larget category as most NPCs walking around would be generic.
- Secondary NPCs. Ppartially fleshed out. They provide you wth some miscelaneous objectives and minor quests.
- Essential NPCs. Fully fleshed out and involved in important quests.

Agreed that framerates on marginal systems are likely the major concern.

I'm looking forward to mods that alter this for PC at least tho, especially ones that allow for children who don't look like clones.

Assassins creed shallow gameplay? The first one was a bit repetitive but creed 2 was awesome in all aspects. Admittedly brotherhood didn't offer much new but was still awesome.

Yep, no one is ever happy....lol It is either too much and not enough on these forums and the sad thing is I have been watching this trend since Morrowind. Alot of people just complain to complain and get attention...... Yeah if someone has a legitimate problem with the game, that is fine and make their post constructive.
