Hi, I'm a player who plays with cheats in order to enjoy the story without dying. Is there a way to be unable to die, but still having weapon deterioration and ammo use / reloading?

yes, play it on very easy

If on PC you can use "TDM", that allows you to use ammo. But your weapons still don't deteriorate.

Don't play with cheats.

Whenever I'm in that kind of mood for a game I do what Freqnasty suggested. Play on Very Easy.

The only problem with Very Easy mode that I find though is that sometimes all the "baddies" atre not generated so you don't get the full flavor of the game. For example only one "baddie" will spawn on Very Easy whereas in the full blown version mode of the game perhaps three "baddies" will spawn for a battle. And sometimes none.

I'm assuming you're on PC? This code allows you to have very high health but not have to use god mode: player.modav health 999999999

You'll still get hurt and break your limbs but chances are you won't die, not for awhile so just have some stimpacks handy. Your weapons, ammo, armor and even the setting you play on (I use hardcoe) are not affected by this code, only your health.

Thanks. As for those who tell me to play on very easy, I just don't feel comforted by having my damage being inflated. Feels unfair. I just want to do damage at the normal rate. I know, I'm irrationaly stubborn.
