Morrowind or elsweyr DLC?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:41 pm

Shivering Isles made sense. It's a Daedric realm.

Skyrim and Elsweyr are at opposite ends of the continent.

Since when does this matter? In morrowind you had to take a boat to Tribunal (the name of the island escapes me). iirc you couldn't get there if you just levitated from the main part of the game.
It wouldn't be the first time they made you use a portal, but I'd like morrowind more simply because of the boarded-up exit of Riften.
Though as others have said Morrowind, if re-done, should be a whole game. It wouldn't make much sense to me to rebuild it in its current state, since not only would the landscape be very different, but the Interface is vastly different from Morrowind's as well. It's not like I can go up to someone and ask them for a little secret or a little advice, or information on their race... etc.
Ultimately I'd love both an expansion and a remake of the game but if one is done I don't think the other will be... So I really don't know.

You mean it doesn't make sense how to get there? By ship.

Still doesn't make much sense really. A neighbouring province would make more sense... but even then, i'd rather they didn't waste any of Tamriel's provinces on DLC.

An underground dlc, an ancient forgotten island in the sea of ghosts or a combination of both

None of these will happen. Each Elder scrolls game is localized to a single imperial province. Going back to previously played areas would commit them to specific actions taken by the player in previous games. Others would commit Bethesda to a map design in a future game.

They have 4 options:
  • More deadric realms, such as a re-made shivering isles. Being ruled by the Daedric prince of magic would mean that few would question it if the realm were completely redone.
  • More locations within skyrim.
  • play in a "pocket dimension" similar to a daedric realm, but without the deadra.
  • The character is teleported to another continent. They are confirmed to exist from history books in the games.

More locations within Skyrim? You do realize that this game takes place in the ENTIRE land of Skyrim, not just a portion of it, like how Morrowind was only in a portion of Morrowind? There IS nowhere left to go in Skyrim.

They haven't done a game in Summurset Isles, Valenwood, Elsweyr or Black Marsh, those are all still options.

Even though Arena did make you visit every Province, I don't really count that, as it was so rudimentary. Only differences between the Provinces in Arena was the skin color of the NPCs, the weather, and the color of the sky/background...

They won't make a DLC set in a completely different part of the continent. Black Marsh and/or Elsweyr will have their separate games.
It should be either a new location within Skyrim, or a detour to a neighbouring province to properly finish the civil war questline. Perhaps we'll see a Daedric realm like TES IV had, but that will probably be the second DLC. Personally, I'd love to see Hammerfell again and it seems quite probable considering the lore.

In morrowind you had to take a boat to Tribunal (the name of the island escapes me).

No, you were teleported there and it wasn't an island it was the capital of morrowind.
Unless your talking about Bloodmoon expansion with island named solstheim in which you could take a boat ride there or actually levitate.

But Tribunal proves your point there wasn't anyway else to get except teleport.

I'd rather they go to certain areas, and not provinces. Save the provinces for their own games, right?

The only province I can see them turning into an expansion is Alinor, since it's an island, so it's not that big.

As far as the rest of the provinces go, I'd rather they have their own game.

Mournhold and Solsteim made ok sense for Morrowind.
Shivering Isles was perfect for Oblivion. You have to realize they had Gates, so going to Daedric Realms made more sense.
The next GAME should be in Hammerfell/Elsewyr or another Province not done yet, Not as DLC

UNLESS they do something like they did for Fallout 3 and PITS DLC...they had you warp to a whole new content with new things. Maybe Morrowind as DLC seeing its pretty destroyed...could make it look like a Daedric Realm now lol it got ravaged by a Volcano.

Why the hell would Elsweyr make sense as a DLC setting for Skyrim...?

And no to Morrowind. If they revisit that province again, it deserves to be a full game... not DLC.

i want to go back to cyridill again, morrowind in my honest opinion was just so boring, its like paris hilton naked but who gives a crap.

I'd say morrowind, 'cause we've already had a game set there, so if we do go back it'll most likely be as a dlc (albeit a really big one).

I would live to see morrowind make a return, but I don't think that's very likely. I'd really like to see some crazy, over the top dlc that would put the shivering isles or bloodmoon to shame.

None, I want them to be their own game, and I doubt they will go back to Morrowind.

this ork is brilliant! why would ANYONE want to waste a province on a DLC, not even sheogorath's most insane followers would want that, and we're they're all bat [censored] crazy

we will be exploring the sea of ghosts, and the new islands that come along with it

You need a none of the above option. Provinces are usually reserved for vanilla game settings, not DLC.

I don't see options for planes of Oblivion or island locations either.

There's room for DLC set in Skyrim as well.

I vote for Morrowind...eager to see what Vvardenfell looks like after the Ministry of Truth fell and caused Red Mountain to erupt. Besides, Bethesda's current tech wont do Elswyer justice...They have yet perfect snow-physics and definately dont have the means to perfect on sand-physics [feet sinking in the sand, sandstorms, ect].
