Morrowind logo and it's meaning

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:41 pm

So i've been lounging around, being my general lazy self, and recently came upon the box to my old copy of Morrowind, which then found itself being installed on my computer rather quickly. I spent a good while looking at the front cover and reminiscing about my first ever play through and got to wondering what the Morrowind logo is all about. I'm no lore buff really but it still interests me and i was wondering what you guys might be able to tell me about it.

Also, and i would be eternally grateful if you could, but does anybody know where i could find a picture of the logo without MORROWIND splashed across it?

Much appreciated!

It's the Imperial Dragon on top of a triangle with the Daedric characters Alma, Seht, and Vekh in the corners, referring to each member of the Tribunal. The GoTY variation has a werewolf head and a Hand of Almalexia symbol.

Not sure which logo you're talking about (the OP means the game box) but Talos and Tiber are the same thing.

The Symbol represents the Empire and then each corner is a Daedric letter representing the 3 members of the Tribunal. Vivec, Almalexia & Sotha Sil.

Mine has the words Hlaalu, Redoran, Indoril, "Telvan",and Dagoth, around the border and presumably Dres at the top, but that's oscured by a big ugly PCGAMER logo.

I was wondering what that Daedric was.

Here, I made this http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/5936/mwbox.jpg that translates all the Daedric text.

Ayem, Seht, and Vehk are Daedric letters, as well as the Daedric names used when referring to the members of the Tribunal - Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Vivec, respectively.

The edges of the box have each of the six (includes Dagoth) Great Houses of Morrowind inscribed in Daedric text as well.

It's the Dragon, logo of the Empire. You can see the logo on banners around imperial forts and many other things imperial such as armor and the gates in the Imperial city have them too.
