I just though of this, and it might actually make a good TV Series. Morrowind's mainquest and the culture of Morrowind allows for great complexity. There could even be "filler episodes" with the protagonists of the series doing "side-quests" if you want longer and more seasons. The pilot episode could have some sort of prologue showing the Battle at Red Mountain.

During the course of the series, House Dagoth and Dagoth Ur could be built up as villains. You would get glimpses and learn more and more about the backstory over the course of the season (or seasons).

Got a much better shot as a movie because effects budget goes a lot further. Write an adapted screenplay and find a way to present it as profitable. Studios are probably looking for the next Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter megabuck bonanza...Morrowind is as good a possibility as any other source material.

The only possible way I would allow this would be if Michael Kirkbride was the head writer and if it was set before the main quest by a few hundred years.

Nah. I think Skyrim would make a better TV series because it has many features that many TV shows have today: fun, casual, poor writing and over hyped.
