Most disturbing dreams you've had?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:36 am

So I took a nap today, and was greeted by an pretty unpleasant dream. The dream was like I was watching a star wars movie(not a prequel..), it seemed very similar. But anyway, there was this disease, it completely removed someones skin, and sometimes mutated them a little bit too, those people looked like skinless, red monsters.. It's sounds silly I'll admit, but while I was dreaming it was definitely more disturbing.

So, what's your most disturbing dream?

I'm fairly well known for my absolutely insane dreams, most of my friends run for the hills when I start a sentence off with "So, I had the strangest dream last night". This isn't my most bizarre/disturbing dream lately, but it's one that I still remember and it's been several years since I had it. I was bathing in a tub full of blood, watching my best friend and his girlfriend have six, while another friend was digging for buried gold, while a barber was slicing the throat of one of his customers in order to put more blood into my tub. Certainly a pretty bizarre dream :)

Some weird dreams I've had recently consist of my Fluttershy brushable. I may have dreams totally unrelated to My Little Pony but the Fluttershy brushable will be in the dream. This only started occuring after I got my own Fluttershy brushable. Spooky.

It's usually the more disturbing dreams that tend to sound funny when you try to tell other people.

For example, I recently dreamt that I went to my grandparent's house and found a bunch of dead bodies, some partially dismembered. Turned out my grandma was a serial killer, and my grandma was normally the one who got rid of the bodies for her, but he got sick & was bed-ridden so the bodies started piling up

I dreamt that Vernon and Petunia Dursley killed Dudley and made a giant fruit roll up out of him. And then they cried about it.
I told them they should have eat en cheese.
Then I made a giant cheddar, it was three stories high. It rolled down the street and crushed some cars, and kept on going. I tried to stop it, but once a giant dream cheese has a mind of it's own, it is impossible. So I ran after it. A man with no face wearing a grey sharkskin suit and a red rose in his lapel began folloing me. The cheese gained momentum and rolled faster.
I ran a bit faster, and then a little bit faster, and so on and so on, but the cheese was out of my reach, and the faceless grey man kept getting closer. Then he stuck his hand into my back, and monkeyed round with my atoms, while I screamed. I woke up of course, to my husband touching my bare back.

I did not eat cheese, chocolate, spicy food or drink wine that night.

lol that's pretty disturbing!

Back when Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt were in the news 24/7, I had a dream that they adopted me as their child, and I was really tiny....like my advlt self, but shrunk to about 1/10th my size, and they each took one of my hands and were swinging me back and forth (like a jump rope) as we walked down the street. Very random.

After my mom passed away I was having back-to-back dreams and nightmares of her almost all the time. I still have them every now and then but they don't seem to be as badas they once where.

Oh, and I had a dream-related experience that I still find disturbing to this day. Keep in mind that I'm normally a skeptic, not at all superstitious, but:

For a class project when I was an undergrad, we had to buy an item from a fair-trade organization and write a paper on it. I ended up buying a tapestry online from a place out of Guatemala. They were normally very expensive, but they had a clearance section for "flawed" items that were really cheap. For the tapestry I ordered, all it said was "minor defect/abnormality". I got it in the mail and saw absolutely nothing wrong with it, so I hung it up on the wall in my bedroom.

It's not at all unusual for me to have really realistic and bizarre dreams, but shortly after hanging up the tapestry, I started having waking dreams, where I would wake up in the morning but still be dreaming at the same time, and actually see the things from my dream in my room. Except every single time, the things were in the tapestry.

For example, I dreamt that my mom and I were being chased by some crazy guy and I woke up just as he had grabbed my mom. But since I was having a waking dream, I actually "saw" my mom in my bedroom -- she was standing with her back to me, her face pushed into the tapestry. Another one was of this scary devil-looking creature that was trying to kill me, and when I "woke up" his face was coming out of the tapestry.

At first I found it kind of fascinating, but it really started to bother me after a few months, so I took the tapestry down and it never happened again. I still have the tapestry but keep it stored in a box, lol.

I've had countless bothersome nightmares. I recall one dream I had when I was like 5 years old.

It began with me getting out of my bed and walking into the hallway, it was disturbingly eerie, and it seemed there was no one home. From the hallway I could see my dads lazyboy recliner. Then I see a dark silhouette of what looks like an alien with a heart shaped head peeking from behind it, staring directly at me. I turn and run to my bedroom, but the creature catches me.

That's when it ends. But it was very horrifying.

Most disturbing for me is when other people die (or disappear, or whatever) in my dreams...ones that (in the dream anyway) I care about. Oddly in the dream it doesn't have to be someone I know in real life, it's just a dream-emotional fear thing I suppose. So I wake up all teary and depressed blah blah.

Threat or harm to myself doesn't disturb me much, dream wise. Must be all those horror movies I've seen. ;)

A dream that reoccurred maybe 3 times, with different circumstances and scenery, if you will, was the idea that I had killed someone, and his friends, who I also knew were about to find me out and do me in, as well as the cops.
It was laced with a sense of overwhelming fear, guilt and hopelessness...and it seemed as if it were reality. Life as I knew it was about to come to an end.
I was very relieved to wake up each time.

These dreams are a bit strange but not really disturbing:

I remember as a kid I dreamt that someone was lifting up a bed by one side then they let the bed fall, and at the precise moment it hit the floor I awoke to the sound of clapping thunder...

I also had a dream that I was having an argument with a roommate, when suddenly she stabbed me in the back of the neck, puzzled I calmly asked "If I am dead why do I feel as though I am asleep, at that moment I woke up.

When I was younger I had a lot of death-related dreams and the usual shock stuff but for the past, say, four years I think I haven't had a single night with a dream I'd remember in the morning. I go to sleep, everything goes black, and I open my eyes a few hours later. That's my night.

Had a dream that I was blind, or very nearly blind, last night. And even to move my body took a very great effort.

However, I may have experienced sleep paralysis, woken up, and thought it was a dream. Which is also quite scary.

A strange dream I've had recently involved me being at the train station, cutting off my own fingers and sticking them back on. I seem to recall feeling that the positioning of my fingers was sub-optimal and that they could do with a little adjustment. It wasn't painful or even stressful it seemed completely normal to me in the dream. My fingers would stay attached once I stuck them back on, I didn't need to sew them back on.

I just had a dream. It was like a strange parody of the thief series with poor graphics. There was a strange ghost who saw me through walls, also vampires with 2 axes in each hand and multiple human guards. I died every time, but luckily I could "save" and "reload".

There was one of those mexican wreslters in the corner of my room, halfway up the wall holding on like spiderman.
Then a knife appeared in my hand but I just stood there and the room began glowing red, and there was all this sounding, then I woke up.

It's not that disturbing but when you're 7-9 yrs old it's pretty weird.

That's a sign that you watch too much MLP.

I once dreamed about Morrowind. That was also a sign that I was playing it too much. But Morrowind is one thing, MLP is another.

the most disturbing are the ones that F with my sense of reality. One of which started with me getting my head bitten off in a ditch, and then perceived the rest of the dream as a police sheriff looking desperately for his daughter. The sheriff finds his way to some old 50's style diner shaped like a camper, where he meets a gyspie who kept saying "Take the red one".

i woke up in a cold sweat and was convinced for about a month that i would die if i did not "take the red one"

although the dreams that seem to mess with my sense of reality the most are the reoccurring ones in which i am chasing an individual with a blurred face (usually a blond chick) desperately but struggle to even move or keep my vision from going out of focus.
