Most "lore fit" dragonborn?

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 10:49 am

I know there is no such thing, but what, in your opinion, are the most fitting paths for the dragonborn?

So far I think it is: (Mostly the obvious)
Male Nord warrior
No sides in the civil war
Does not join DB or TG
Neither vampire or werewolf

I'm not sure if he would join and purify the companions (and himself), or not join at all.
I also don't know if he would kill Paarthurnax or leave him alive.

This. And I reckon he'd kill ol' Paarthy, Nords aren't really the trusting type, methinks.

Nord Warrior, joins Stormcloaks, preserves Paarthunax, joins Dawnguard, herps some derps.

Then again, with Defaultborn being depicted as a vampire in the trailer for Dawnguard, the could also be a strong vote in favor of siding with the vampires instead.

In later games the Dragonborn will be just as vague as all of the other player characters. In promotional materials he's a Nord wearing Iron Armour, so it's likely that the 'canon' Dragonborn went through the main quest at a low level. They probably did join the Dark Brotherhood, since assassinating the final target has a big impact on the world.

Dragons are strong and Prideful, I think this would fit with a man who has Dragon blood. When the Emperor kneeled to the Elves he showed weakness and I don't think the Dragonborn would follow that weakness. If we fast forward a few years then it's likely that our Dragonborn will become the new Emperor, I don't think he'll do it by being another grunt.

It would work better if he started a massive rebellion to drive out the Elves from Skyrim and then used his Nord army to rally all of the other provinces to his cause.

That's just my imagination though.

Never really felt the need to have a "canon" Dragonborn. Typically in all the games that have come and gone, the one that has been Canon for me has been my favorite characters. Nothing need be set in stone. Heck I may create a character ten times better than the one I'm playing that'll make me go "yes, this is my Dragonborn".

I have always saw my own Dragonborn AS the canon Dragonborn, my RPing with him just makes him fit in so much, however i suppose everyone feels like that...
My characters name IS Dovahkiin, because he grew up abandoned, and raised by a family of wolves, some other things unfurl, he gets jailed accidently, learns english and other stuff over the years, and eventually through the story he adopts the name given to him by the people of Skyim 'Dovahkiin' or 'Dragonborn'... he joined the stormcloaks, and DG and theres alot more to it than just this, but ill leave that over 6000 word story for another time xD

Male Nord warrior, kill dark brotherhood, join stormcloak and companions, cure werewolf. Ignore thieves guild, and maybe join mages by demonstrating your thu'um to get to the scroll. Otherwise, ignore mages.

Dragonborn's Ideals change from person to person, even in history. Suggesting there is a specific personality for dragonborns history-wide doesnt fit.

However. I envision my character as a Nord, Harbinger of the Companions, Stormcloak supporter, Magic hating, yet relying on shouts. Married, and alcoholic.

Note: When guards see that you have wolf armor, they say that it is "true nord armor" so companions are a must.
Note 2: Many Nords aspire to be bards and write songs of their battles, what better than to write about love?
Note 3: Imperials are Milk Drinkers. Thalmor are Cocktail Sippers. Khajiits are Skooma Addicts. Nords are Mead Revelers.

It depends on you ! Knowing Bethesda we will have this amount info about Dragonborn in next TES:
He stoped Alduin - The End.

My dragonborn, therefore my cannon db in my future chars in future TES will be:
Imperial, Legate, Paarthurnax slayer, Blades member, Bard, Thalmor hater and Dawnguard Member*

*I haven't played Dawguard yet, so it's only my assumption, that he will join them, however Harkon can be very convicting.
