Just started playing it with my 360 controller using the Microsoft Xbox Controller Wireless Receiver.

Amazing!

The UI was clearly designed for the Xbox controller in mind - so until they fix that (which they probably won't) I would highly recommend you use a 360 controller to play.

I recommend whatever feels best for you.

I've used both. I got tired last night and my butt hurt so I moved to my bed with the controller. I find both methods fine. KB/M just took a bit of time to get used to but once you are it's not bad. Not optimal, but not bad from my viewpoint.

I usually prefer mouse+keyboard, but it felt wonky so I hooked up my controller. After getting through the starting scenario and getting used to it, I fell in love.
You can only walk ( like toggle walk) on PC at one speed, which feels fake. With a joystick you have a touch sensitive speed to walk slow or run with a gradual build up or slow down.

The game feels much better to me with the controller. The UI is more intuitively navigable with a controller than KB/M. I think of the controller as an essential PC peripheral these days.
