Movember

Post » Sun Nov 04, 2012 2:33 pm

Hey guys,

So, who's participating in Movember/No Shave November this year? For those who don't know, it's a month where you refrain from shaving any facial hair (and probably other hair too, if you like) for an entire month. It's meant to raise awareness for testicular cancer, which is, pretty dangerous stuff...

So yeah, I'll be doing it again this year, as I do every year since gaining the ability to grow proper facial hair. Might even upload progress photos, haha.

I'm taking part in Nosember, where I go a month without trimming my nostril hairs, to raise awareness of Movember.

I saw the TED talk on it the other day. Very interesting, but no dice for me. I grow the most facial hair on my chin. Anything above it looks...bad. Very bad. Too bad.

Edit: That's because Movember is specifically moustaches. Mo-ustache, Mo-vember.

Well I still can't grow a proper moustache, or any facial hair, so I won't be growing one. :(

But I think my dad and brother are planning on doing it.

Unfortunatley I am completely unable to grow any facial hair apart from a neckbeard. And while it was a good look with Nero, it doesnt really suit me.

So I'll be supporting Movember through supporting those who actually can grow a mo. :P

I only shave about once every 3 months as it is, so I'll just go about my regular routine and sport my normal beard/moustache.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and I refuse to take part in it.

Moustache is gross. We should have a no-shave month of epic beards.

I'll pass. I can't even grow much hair to begin with. I don't like being hairy/hairy people either.

After I finish Duty this weekend I am starting, I don't grow very much facial hair but I also never let it grow at all so I am going to try this month and see how it goes.

So, let me get this straight, or bent. If I don't shave throughout November, I'll have less chances of developing testicular cancer?

Apparently there have been Movember events in my country, but I've never heard of them. Just like I never hear about anything that doesn't show in the newspapers with big, bold letters :P

I've had 2 female friends tell me "It's time to shave" when I have had a decent amount of facial hair, so I feel as if it doesn't work for me. Besides I always feel silly when I have to talk to professors about job related queries or just in general when I have a beard, so that's another reason against.

The only thing I ever shave is my mustache because I don't want it.. other than that I let my beard grow until it's time to trim it a little, just so I can have it maintained and keep the way I want it longer :).

It's due in for another trim soon actually.
