Moving Skyrim to a new comp.

Post » Sat Aug 25, 2012 5:25 am

Hi all,

should perhaps be in support section but I run a heavily modded game so...

Got myself a new comp and moved my STEAM folder to it via external disc. Can`t start the game regardless of method used i e SKSE, Skyrim.exe or Skyrim launcher. Any tips on how to do this? I`d rather not reinstall the whole b-d-y thing.

Grateful for any help.

Verify the files and refresh the INI files and ensure you've actually run Steam already.

You could always use the Steam backup feature and then reinstall Stream and restore from backup if Steam itself doesn't work.

Hi deaths_soul,

thx for your attn. Just realized that verifying will "upgrade" my game to 1.7 from 1.6 and I`m not sure I want that. So I`ll stick to my old comp for a while yet.

The only difference between 1.6 and 1.7 is the TESV.exe which you can make a backup of if your afraid of forced upgrade.
