That is a problem endemic to all MMOs, whose fundamental purpose are to create an economic micro-transaction system to harvest money out of consumers through perpetual tasks.
Actually in the last few years seems to be endemic to the whole videogame industry
Making DLCs after DLCs, expansions that adds very little and costs a whole new game.
And honestly I don't see that as a better way to do business.
I mean .. sure .. you make a WOW clone and you get money for that .. for the first ... 2? 3 months?
I mean how many games crashed and burned after few months and were made free to play?
Isn't better to make a game right, even if it appeals to a smaller crowd, but keep them interested for years?
Because I usually stop playing a elder scroll games just when the new one is out... with an MMO done right I would simply not stop...
I would be willing to pay a monthly fee up to 20-25$ for the years to come and I see myself playing that kind of game as long as they support it.
Financially, is Like releasing a new skyrim every 2-3 months...
How many months will this game endure before getting dull like every single game made in the same way?
