The first bulk of my post is going to consist of things ive taken from a recent thread concerning the GAUSS.

A lot of the balance problems are due to there being low recoil across the board. This causes the weapon which kills the fastest (the SCAR/AY69) to come out on top. Sure its possible to dominate with other weapons, im not saying thats not possible. Weapon balance is good enough to the point where you can stomp crappy players with anything but its bad to the point where some weapons are just redundant or flat out terrible.

I feel that if a patch changes balance too much at once new problems can easily be created when fixing old ones. Here is what I suggest happens..

Flashbang start ammo should be increased from 1 to 2.
Currently there is no reason to use Flashes over Frags. This would give people an incentive to select them. Side Pack would give 3 starting Flashbangs with its upgrade.

The K-Volt needs its damage increasing from 17-12 to 20-15.
This changes it from a 6-9 hit kill to a 5-7 hit kill to the Torso. The FELINE would still kill considerably faster but the K-Volt has its niche of draining suit energy. At the moment it kills so slowly that draining suit energy is more like a gimmick because people still kill you much faster with another weapon with or without suit energy.

The L-TAG needs its core damage upping from 125 to 150.
This weapon has extremely short range, a slow rate of fire and quite a lengthy delay on detonations. It shouldnt also have low damage with a short splash radius. At the moment you can sit on a grenade in Armor mode and survive if you are on full health.

The X-43 MIKE needs its damage increasing from 11.5 to 20.
Currently this weapon kills as fast as the SCAR does but has the range of shotgun.. who balanced this? Up its damage so that its uncontested within range but not an instagibb. This thing should kill faster than the FELINE.

AY69 damage dropped from 17-13 to 15-13.
The AY69 needs toning down a little. Its the fastest killing secondary on top of having zero recoil and being fully automatic. At least reward people who are putting in more effort using the Majestic, Hammer and M12 Nova.

I'm still holding on to my weapon unlocks since i have no clue when you get more of them so i only unlocked one of those guns so far (wanting to try out the scarab at 27 or whatever it is, level 21 atm)

Only just recently unlocked the AY69 and used it a few times, i might have to agree with you on that. From the limited amount of time i've used so far i does seem a lot better then the Nova. But then again, i might just have been lucky with it... time will tell...

I agree with your proposed changes, some weapons could use some love.
Havn't tried the AY69 and L-TAG yet but based on stats they could use some love, balancing a grenade launcher is very hard though.
Grendel could use some love too like increased dmg and kickback to make the user feel he's using some heavy caliber.

And you forgot a B in the title

While I haven't spent enough time to asses the guns,my biggest problem that I think makes the game unbalanced is the lack of proper spawn points.It makes it entirely too easy for someone to kill you from the back.I'd bet that if there was a stat for kills from behind,probably 60-70% of all kills occur that way.Yes,it is the absolute best way to kill,but it should happen when flanking and not just because you spawn in the right place at the right time.

2 main problems:

1) the spawn points. It happens to that other guy too, but it really svcks when you just got spawned right in front of your enemies rifle for the 5th time.

2) I think the SCAR needs a bit tweaking. On long range it easily beats the sniper rifle and in close combat it easily wins versus the M60, which is kinda ridiculous. Every weapon should have its weaknesses and drawbacks, the SCAR seems to have only advantages.

Im going to have to agree with everything you stated. At first I though all the weapons were balanced(from playin sp) But now that im over 12 hours in the multi its nothing but red dot Scars and Felines. Both shot guns are worthless the LMG is average at best though I wanna try it with Rapid Fire. The K Volt is weak and the accuracy is far worse than the Feline (electric rounds seem to float around not go straight). The sniper while deadly is not used at all anymore due to how fast people move around in this game. I have yet to try the higher level weps ( ltag,xm43,scarab) but from what ive seen from my higher level friends the Scar and Feline still remain the 2 deadliest weps.

K-Volt: maybe, seems super weak to me too.

@OABragg:

1. Yeah, spawn system is really bad. Even when the match starts you might spawn among enemies.

2. Really? Out of all guns having the Scar to be the best doesn't sound that bad to me. Can't talk about the Sniper Rifle, but the MK60 is already powerful enough compared to the Scar.
Besides that, I get killed much more often by the MK60, the Jackal and the grenades than by the Scar... Idk

How about a rise of health from 100 to 130? Everything kills too fast, first sight is almost every time a kill.

Then what would you suggest to make Flashbangs more on par with Frag grenades?

Also, have you even used the L-TAG? Its really awful.

The Grendel is all right, but no match to the SCAR with its higher fire rate. Perhaps increasing the firing rate a little bit would be better. The Marshal is not as effective as it should be, probably due to being outclassed by the SCAR and feline. The SCAR has too low of a recoil, its firing rate is too fast, and its damage is too high - making it the default weapon for many players.
