Must wait for patch. unplayable

They released a full game with many bugs, major bugs. Graphic, shadows, lags, fps, many many more. This is a biggest fail of bethesda ever. I feel like on the open beta test of mmorpg, where people search for bugs. They have testers in the company, as well as a lot of time in order to remove these problems, but not ... They hurried up and made ??the game that now we have to suffer.

It is not fair to the players who paid for the game. What are your feelings?

I agree with you. Additionally, I think they should have outsourced the PS3 version to the people that made the PS3 version of Oblivion a beacon of HOPE for PS3 adopters. Those guys really knew what they were doing... at the console's launch window while Bethesda still hasn't figured it out years after its release. This is pathetic. Oblivion's saved data files NEVER had a semblance of this issue and the game really took advantage of PS3 hardware, for the time. Bethesda... they're among the worst PS3 developers out there, at the moment, and it's a shame since most of the rest of the gaming industry learned how to program for the PS3. There is no excuse for this [censored]. Bethesda are an anomaly... a clearly slow-to-learn development company that's lagging far behind industry standards when it comes to PS3 code and so this is just inexcusable.

My feelings are that they completely failed with this game.

It's not made to run on this system, yet they sold it to us. Why?

Profit.

Maybe you don't care about this game what you paid for, but it was my money and I want to finish this game and so I bought it a week ago to now wait months for a patch to play it normally? Are you kidding me?

Months? Impatient much? Game has been out one week and they've announced that they're getting a patch out to address the framerate issues ASAP (most likely the one that's currently in submission for certification). Hardly "months."

Agreed, i didn't pay $60 for a game and $30 for a hardcover book AND wait in line for 4 hours in the freezing cold for a game that wasnt properly finished or completely done being debugged. We obviously expect a few glitches, you cant expect a game this big to be without them even when it is released, but the MAJOR game ruining bugs should have been completely ruled out by the time the gamers got hold of it.... UNACCEPTABLE!

Eating up the PR, I see? They've said nothing, absolutely nothing indicating that this patch with actually do anything for the PS3's fps and there's nothing impatient about this. I've been waiting since late 2009 (Fallout 3 GOTY edition) for them to get their act together. Still waiting... and still with only speculation and not any direct references to the issue or whether it will be fixed. Money... years of waiting... still no acknowledgement... they're in the wrong here. We have the right, no wait, the duty to be angry and yelling at them.

It will not be a couple of days though thats the thing it will be a couple of weeks and I can imagen we wont even see patch notes for some time, yes I have a home and food but that is not the issue by what your saying if I purchase a product that doesn't do what it says on the tin I shouldn't be angry because atleast I have shelter and food? make's no sense people are entitled to get what they paid for and im afraid some of us here did not.

My feelings at the moment are calm I am happy they have sent a patch out the be certified yet worried that it will no address the issue that most of us are hoping for, guess we will all have to just wait and see.

In another forum, there is a claim (and has been confirmed by a few others) that deleting the installation then re-installing clears it up. Although from a technical point of view, this shouldn't fix anything. There was no Skyrim game on the HDD prior to it being installed the first time. Then after the lag, supposedly deleting the installation and re-installing is different than the initial installation somehow that it miraculously fixes the lag? Well that's what some others are claiming...

when you pay upwards of £45 for a game, youre well within your rights to be upset. true enough its not life threatening, but neither should we just roll over and take it.

Framerate issues are not the worst. The worst are the shadows and textures loading slow. Look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es84W6A1XsQ . It's a pc version but I have the same on my ps3. I cant look at this. In caves or building where you have artificial light (such as torches) they look even worse, I'm sorry, it's not the shadows, just squares, pixels

To be honest the FPS issue is the worst for me atleast, I would sooner look at an ugly game and be able to play than have a visually attractive one and not even be able to move which is the case im in at the moment.

No... no, no, no, no, no, NO, NO!!!!!!!!! The very playability of the game is far more severe than some minor visual glitches. The framerate and continual slowing down of the game alongside increased stuttering are the major problems. If you believe otherwise, I'm sad to inform you that they keep getting worse. The shadows are fine... the lack of playable performance is the bullcrap.

I feel they did this too the bugs don't bother me much as the awfulness of the game in many aspects. I'm hoping most of them are bugs.

Not a great way to have a first post given but given the circumstances, I think it can be excused.

The point is that bethesda HAD to have known about this beforehand. There is no f***ing way that they didn't have playtesters that went beyond the thirty hour mark and experienced these problems on the Playstation version. We've been waiting years for this game (rightly so, it's fantastic) and this is what they give us? A broken mess? I could understand if they had a patch prepared on the first day that fixed this as they had to have known about this beforehand, though the fact that they didn't and are pretending that they didn't know about this shows us that they don't actually know how to fix it, which really pisses me off. So yes, we can wait for a couple of days(more like a month or so until they actually tell us that they have a fix) but we shouldn't HAVE to.

Once again, Wise words from Seti.

He was saying in comparison to the serious lag problems that develop as you progress in the game, the shadows are irrelevant.

I completely agree with the TC. This game is a huge letdown for elder scrolls fans and casual players alike. While the framerate issues may be enough to cripple the game for some, the failed textures loading, items in inventory being low res, waterfalls freezing as low res blocks. Its not any less of an issue because when they fix the frame rate lag problem you will all be complaining about this.

Maybe, but I'd still play it.

Seriously, I can't believe anyone is comparing texture problems to the lag issue. I'd gladly trade Xbox's texture install issue for my PS3 unplayable lag build up issue.
