Nano Edition - EA store only?

Post » Wed Aug 04, 2010 2:41 am

So now that the Nano Edition is listed on the EA store, i'm compelled to pre-order it. However, there's one draw back. The FASTEST shipping available puts it at 5 to 10 days... which is a hell of a long time. However, if it were to be available from other retailers (Gamestop etc.), chances are I would be able to pick it up on release.

So my question to Crytek - Is the Nano Edition an EA Store exclusive, or will it be available from other retailers later on?

I think that it might hit 3rd party retailers in the future, but any argument either way is just speculation.

I would preorder it from the EA Store, and then if it is available to other retailers, I would cancel from EA and move to the quicker shipping retailer.

Don't panic! Some stores have it available at this time, others don't, mostly this should be down to language (i.e. when one person releases the English I imagine a few others will follow suit, probably). But there's no danger that you'll miss out if you check back regularly.

Just give it a little while (I don't have an ETA right now but if I get one i'll let you know) and check back regularly on www.sosnewyork.com/preorder and eventually all of the stores listed there will be updated with the nano edition available.

Crysis 2Nano Edition Pre-Order

Please check all the posts first, and lets try to get this line of enquiry centralized pls.

But TBH, and to be sure in my own mind I went the whole hog, and pre-ordered Nano edition from EA, and the LE from Game, I can play straight from the off, and wait for Nano wich may truly end up as a collectable, lol

Crytek's Twitter at E3 and Gamescom mentioned it was EA online store only.

Awesome :)

Is there any ETA available on that, or is it just "when it happens"? Im only hesitant because the EA store version has a 5-10 day shipping time... I would rather play on release date, if possible ;)

from the NEWS section of this site:
"Not available in stores, the Nano Edition is available in extremely limited quantities via pre-order only"
http://www.gamesas.com/news/crysis_2/crysis_2_limited_and_nano_edition

In my opinion this statement seems contradictory to the idea of offering The Nano Edition at multiple retailers. How limited can it be if this is true?

I think its limited by quantity. The retailers are probably given a certain amount of the Nano Edition, and when they are all sold then the availability is gone.

EA's site says "one of over 250" so that could be anything. Hopefully not more than 400.

^^ here is the full quote "? Platinum Dog Tag – This special one-of-a-kind dog tag is one of over 250 that will be collectible in Crysis 2 multiplayer, helping to separate you from the rest of the field." so it wasn't meant for the nano edition :P but i hope it's pretty limited. I want to be one of the few to bloat i got the nano edition

Well, im willing to wait until sunday night. If its not on Gamespot or Amazon by then, EA store it is (I can always cancel the EA store pre-order if it comes to one of them later). I DONT want to be left out of the Nano-goodness :P

I just ordered Crysis 2 Nano Edition (PC) on the EA Store using a $5 Wendy's Big Score promo code. The order total amounted to $163.07 USD with free shipping.

Promo code:
https://cocacola.promo.eprize.com/wendysbigscore/

Crysis 2 Nano Edition (PC) - EA Store Online:
http://eastore.ea.com/DRHM/store?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&SiteID=ea&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=718200&Env=BASE&productID=201964400

As standard procedure with many online pre-ordering scenarios, many gamers assume at this point that EA will ship the packages 3 - 5 days before the expected release date on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. I cannot verify whether or not this holds true, but it would be in CryTek's best interests to prioritize its elite segment customers by ensuring that the game is delivered on or before launch day.

Nevertheless, it is always possible to cancel an EA Store Online transaction in the event that other e-tail and retail businesses are allocated limited quantities of the Nano Edition package.

Don't feel too bad, I ordered the LE from the EA store and because I live in Canada, I have to wait 5-10 days.

My EA birthday promotional code was about to expire. I couldn't wait for a PS3 version confirmation so I bought the PC Nano Edition. With shipping cost to Canada (5-10 days) and my discount, the total comes up to $125.
