Nanosuit auto-mode?

Post » Mon Mar 01, 2010 9:25 am

In this video

if you look closely at the HUD, in the lower right corner, beneath the energy bar, there's an indicator that reads auto. My explanation for this is that the Nanosuit 2 automatically switches modes without player input, possibly optionally.

It reads Auto on both of the indicators under the energy bar.
And under the one to the left it stands ARMR (Armour) and on the right it stands STLTH (Stealth)
I can't seem to understand we it says Auto armour and auto stealth.
Don't think it is because it has an auto mode because you are in either armour or stealth mode when it shows so there must be another explanation for this. I guess Crytek will tell us sometime..

So do I, and i know it will. Dont worry. ;) Crytek pays a lot of attention to the HUD because of the Nanosuit. If the HUD werent good, the whole game would be shiite.

Maybe they could have them all in the beta so people can choose which they like best, or just put them as a customisable option in the full game.

A customizeable HUD really is something neat they could implement with relative ease.

Maybe it's like: Stay cloaked unless fired upon. When threat is eliminated, cloak again.

Perhaps it's something to do with auto-aim. I dunno really. That wouldn't make sense.

It must be based around the suit options though. Auto could mean the default options for the suit?

I think it means auto layering (iirc one of the earlier press releases says that the new nanosuit modes offer the ability to layer modes- i.e. layer power mode onto armor mode).

The "customized nanosuit" would then come from different layers that each player decides to put onto each of the modes (or they can simply just choose an "auto" setting that layers some predetermined abilities onto armor/stealth mode).

Aah! I think that is a good guess :)

Makes sense... However, I think it would make more sense if the auto-mode simply automatically switches the extra layers on and off as needed, after they have been chosen.

Both are activated with the left or right shoulder buttons.
