Nanosuit Side Effects

The biggest downside is that you can't have six with any women.

Actually you can. Read Crysis: Legion. Alcatraz says you can.

The Nanosuit kinda grows into you. Like a benign parasite, IE Symbiosis. You keep the suit alive, it keeps you alive...

if you read the book then you know Alcatraz is DEAD, not "dead", DEAD. Nanosuit doesn't fix him, he uses his nervous system, its the only thing that nanosuit needs. the man inside can be dead but that doesn't stop the nanosuit

oh and the suit is CEPH technology, thats why there are some similarities and stuff they mentioned in the game
Hardgreave has studied their technology for years

If hes dead why does the suit defibrillate him on two occasions? Not saying he is or isnt dead according to lore but it seems a little contradicting.

This right here.

The suit is keeping Alcatraz alive, and Alcatraz is keeping the suit alive. I do think that the suit can become aware when it's worn by a single person for a long period of time.

I recall him saying he couldn't do that in whatever chapter he mentions that there's a tube in his anus to prevent him from soiling the suit. Something about wanting a pneumatic pencs.

It also gives a tangible reason why alcatraz doesn't speak, the guy was essentially a corpse and the nanosuit was 'repairing' him over time. He probably didn't have a working voice box :P
haha good one! :P

This will be hard to do without spoilers.

Think of it this way. The suit's function is to keep the user alive. If the suit integrates with the user's bodily functions, it can interact with the user better/faster to administer whatever is necessary to keep the user alive.
Ooh here's an anology I just came up with.

Think of a brick wall. If you remove a brick from it, and replace the brick with...gum, let's say, the wall will still stand (more or less). If you keep doing this, more bricks will be replaced. What do you think would happen if you removed all the gum all at once?

That's a BRILLIANT anology! Bravo!

You guyz realize that without perfectly working lungs you cant speak, right? its not that he doesn't have a voice box, he's freakin running on bonus minutes, the suits keeping him alive, not repairing his body.

Wait, if Alcatraz is completely dead and he can't speak, then how is he able to make grunts and other vocal sounds during the campaign? I think one of the trailers ("Be the Weapon"?) also has him speaking.

If you can breathe you can speak as far as your lungs are concerned. The rest of the work towards speech comes from other places.

Alcatraz is dead, the Nanosuit is "eating" his lungs and other organs, he doesn't have a heart anymore. It's not repairing anything except his spine or something, stuff that nanosuit needs from him. In a way he can speak through the suit. the voice in trailer was either early concept of talking Alcatraz or someone else. Crysis: Legion is a great book for Crysis 2, a lot of stuff is in there + there is no point or an idea you have to look for, just a story( not like the books you have to read in school)

Like this guy said, the suit is keeping him alive, not repairing, if there is grunts, its in his head, litteraly, if you understand what a symbiotic relationship means, you understand there are many different kinds, Alcatraz has a semi parasitic and mutual with the N2, its keeping him alive, not fixing him, and the suit is "semi" organic, so it thinks for itself, and understands without a host, it cant move, so its doing everything it can to keep Alcatraz alive, whether it likes doing that or not, is not its choice, its merely trying to look out for itself.

Symbiosis means two separate organisms feeding off each other to live. If one is removed from the other, both will DIE..
That's what the suit is to the wearer. PLus, remember Alc had ballistics trauma all over his body.

Hi there guys,
I don't think it's about being able to speak or not. He just doesn't talk, not even in the beginning of the game. What pissed me off is that it wasn't the suit talking it was Prophet lol.

as i read from the book, N2 has its own agenda and that it is CEPH technology more or less. Hardgreave just put the pieces together, he doesn't know what happens or what it can do, just hopes that it works.

Dude, go back to school, so the symbiotic relation ship, in where a bird cleans the rhino and keeps it free from flies, and in exchange, the rhino gets cleaned and the bird gets a protective deterant from predators, according to your logic, the rhino will surely die without the bird.

there was no defibrillating in the book and he doens't have a heart in the book but in the game its not said that he doesn't have a heart so they can defibrillate him. The book and game are pretty much the same, i like the book more.
maybe it defibrillates his heart? :D

Relationship is one word, my educated friend. Anyway, yeah, I was thinking about it and both can survive without each other, but it wouldn't be beneficial. Your bird most likely eats ticks that can be most likely annoying to the rhino. Your rhino gives the bird protection and transport while on it, because who really wants to mess with a rhino for a bird?

For everyone arguing about about symbiosis here is the educated explanation. Symbiosis is a relationship in which both organisms benefit from it, i.e the nanosuit is able to function and the user is able to survive. A parasitic relationship is one organism benefitting at the expense of the other (e.g. a tape worm feeding in your colon).

The relationship between nanosuit is symbiotic NOT parasitic

(basis for explanation; undergraduate of zoology)
