Neck Seam and UNP, what have I missed?

Post » Sat Dec 08, 2012 1:53 am

I get this: http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/5012/seamo.jpg

Body skin color lighter than face/neck color. I don't ALWAYS get that nasty effect but I do sometimes, with some enemies or npcs (Bretons, Imperials, Darkelves, Orcs etc...), but only on women, men are just fine as well as my own character seems to be fine.

These are the Body/Face* mods I have installed and their order:

7. UNP Base Main Body -6709-1-2
8. UNP Main Body Upgrade-6709-1-51
9. UNPCv2 Main Package-25080-2-0-0
10. UNP Delicate CBBE Face Compatible-20530-4-1
11. UNPB-Blessed Body Pack Standard Fixed-14899-2-2p

As for faces, I currently run a mash-up of:

23. Better Females by Bella 2812-3-0
23. CoverWomen Look 2-3563-2-0
24. Seamless UNP and Coverwomen Look 2-3563

*Choices I have are limited since I like darkelves without wrinkles and non-old looking.

Now; I got plenty of questions, hoping someone can enlighten me:
-Is it a common issue?
Apparently yes, considered the number of comments on Coverwomen's page: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3563

-Does the problem lie in the female head or in the UNP body itself?

-I recall to have seen somewhere a "neck seam fix" but I can't remember where exactly and I am not even sure it would fix my issue, any pointers?

Not an expert here, but I'll contribute what I know: That problem is caused by a lack of FaceGen meshes and/or textures. Make sure you have files in Meshes/Actors/Character/FaceGenData/FaceGeom and Textures/Actors/Character/FaceGenData/FaceTint for the esp's and/or esm's you are using. Without those, the game has nothing to apply to the characters, and they appear are wonky looking like that.

I am getting a little confused, all the mods I quoted (UNPs, Better Females and Coverwomen) pack no ESP or ESM, they are just a bunch of textures and meshes; none of which though includes any FaceGenData folders or files. What do you use by the way?

Ah, right, of course, sorry my head is other places. :P Ignore that then, if they pack no esp or esm then the facegen data is irrelevant as far as I know.
