To make a long story short, does the fully patched retail version of Crysis run better than the demo?

It should. The retail will have less bugs/glitches and crashes slowing it down. After all, it is DEMO for a reason.

Buy the retail version its worth the money had runs smoothly no bugs !

i have windows 7 64bit and only the 1.0 32bit version of the original crysis will run on my pc - bit daft! latest crysis wars patch works, but loves to crash at times off MP, never did with using win XP. 64bit CW runs, but u cannot enter PB servers, all in all a mixed up affair with crysis games and windows 7. Incidentally, far cry 1 runs perfectly...same stability as it did in xp! crazy, as it's crytek's older game.

To make it run faster and make it look even better at the same time, use msters config with the option "performance". Please make sure u installed all official updates before.

It also has less optimisation done on the level/engine

I seem to recall reviews about the retail version running better than the demo.

Well I currently use CCC 2.21 @ LVL4 with a few tweaks. Looks and runs greatly. Only problem is that when I try installing Ultima's ToD mod, I always get an error "level.pak" not found. Does that only happen on the demo?

The demo doesnt support mods i suppose.

Just buy the full version. Its very cheap.

I wouldn't say it's cheap but it's not expensive and I personally think it's worth it.

Maybe it depends on in which country you live eh?

In Germany you can get the Crysis - Maximum Edition (Crysis + Crysis: Warhead + Crysis Wars) for 19,99 Eur.

Thats very cheap for me.
