Ok, so I need some help. I currently play a two-hand wielding nord warrior who also uses a bow but no magic whatsoever. I usually go in for a close kill in combat so I am looking for a follower that complement my character. Should I hook up with a magician? An archer? A thief?

Any suggestions? And give me some decent followers, not some annoying [censored]!

Aela and Marcurio are both ranged attackers that nicely offset a close quarters player. You usually don't have to worry about them charging in and you accidentally hitting them.

Aela is part of the companions so you would need to complete their questline to have her as a follower and Marcurio is a mercenary found at the Bee and Barb in Riften

I'd recommend someone who uses a sword, shield, and archery style like J'zargo. You'll have someone to bring dragons down from the sky and shield and sword compliments the slow attacks of two handed weapons nicely. Angeke never gets in the way of my Orc Barbarian.
