A need for permission

Post » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:07 pm

Who do I ask about getting the legal right to make molds and cast metal replicas of various game characters, vehicles etc? I'm thinking a solid bronze Pyro GX and Diamond claw (descent 2).

Awesome! If you don't mind, could you let me know when you get these in the market? :D

Glad to see a positive response, CApGuy.

Unfortunately This is still a purely hypothetical project as of now. I may or may not have the means to create the replicas.
I'm a metals student and the Cleveland Institute of Art and I have have access to some great equipment, but I'm not sure how it would fly with my professors. I also need to contact those at gamesas who can give (or deny) me permission to make the models.

It's also a question of time. I don't really have that much of it to play around with
As of now I'm only inquiring about the possibility.

In any case it's nice to see that people are interested. Hopefully some replicas will eventually emerge, but for now I'm just putting the idea out and seeing what happens.

Who knows. Maybe someone at gamesas will see this and initiate official products themselves.

Well, as a fellow college student myself (engineering), I wish you luck in your endeavors. It's a pretty good idea to use the 3D casting devices on hand to do that sort of thing. I've been tempted to submit Solidworks models for casting, too haha. : P

I would SERIOUSLY love to have a Black-Pyro Keychain! I hope someone has the means to create/market it sometime. :) If you see Metal Maniac, let him know I'm looking for 'em.

Ha, sign me up for one of those. I'll take a pyro GX please. :D A massive thank you to EA for:
- Producing great quality games time and time again
- Providing excellent technical support
- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off
- Never wasting people's time
