Need a good Necromancer Build

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:32 pm

I'm new to TES games and need help with everything.

The title says it all, I need help with races, perks, skills, heck maybe even a little backstory!

I really wish they would have allowed you to join or be a necromancer, I never understood why they didn't because it was "frowned" on by the people, but let you be in the DB, conjure zombies etc..

But in oblivion my Necromancer type character was:

Race: Breton
Class: Mage
Skills: Conjuration, Restoration(for the drain spells), Illusion, and Destruction

I'd suggest using an Altmer and finding Conjuration spells for Necromancy, and Illusion spells for handling groups of enemies. As an Altmer you start with a frenzy spell, which will be very useful when against more enemies than your two undead can handle. After that, I'd just play around with all the magic skills until you find the ones you like the best.

Necromancy is sweet, I've probably played most of my RPGs (both on computer and on paper) as Necromancer when they allowed me. This is why I agree to the fact that it is sad there is so little in game story/RP that allows the player to go into that dark path in TES...
I also remember there was an incomplete but yet very good mod for more complete and more "realistic" necromancy on Oblivion.

As Echo_ohcE did by pointing you to that text on necromancy in TES, I suggest you pick necromancy, any numbers of other magic schools and skills, and without thinking too hard about a build just immerse yourself into the game and your character.
What I want to say is that role playing is best thing to do to enjoy necromancy.

And, hopefuly, in a little while, we will get a good necromancy mod ;)
