Need help finding Lydia again

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:42 am

I was doing a Dark Brotherhood quest and lost Lydia. I am using a mod so she is essential. She is not at Dragonreach nor my home. She is also not at the place she most likely either died (I thought she was essential) or what.

Is there a command I can use to get her back? Or if not is there a way I can modify the mod itself to summon her? Any help appreciated.

Stay in one place near the Sanctuary for about an hour or two. Go grocery shopping, get out of the house. She might be next to you when you get home.

Will give it a try. I've gotten too used to her to just let her go and gone too far to restart. Thanks!

Sometimes if my follower vanishes I fast travel somewhere and they reappear again (The only time they did not was when Lydia died when I did the Imperial civil qwar questline)

To bring her to you, type prid a2c94, then . Then type moveto player, then .

Just tried it and it didn't work. Go with Gator Country's advice.

should have been............. player.moveto A2C94.......................that worked.

Okay I tried it. It moved me to where she last was but she is not there. When I first tried it it seemed like she was stuck in a wall or something.

Is there any way I can move her to me?

You can't move her to you but you can clone her by using the command:

player.placeatme 000A2C94

You must click on the ground before you before using the command.

I get invalid objectID for A2C94. I clicked the ground before entering it. Also tried the prid command before that. Looks like I'm restarting.

Found the issue. Somehow in the mod she was NOT marked essential. I was porting back to where she was killed apparently.

Checking essential in the CK and then doing the old Oblivion reload of the esp did NOT work! (uncheck the esp, load, save, quit, check the esp, load) Not sure why. anyway, lesson learned. She is now marked essential and I've reloaded from an earlier save.

Did Lydia disappear as she "Did not approve" of you undertaking to DB Murders? She walks off on me if I do something beyond her Moral limit.

I tend to undertake morally gray quests unaccompanied. Saves on the followers morals settings being overloaded.

That didn't work as that is the reference code for Lydia. To clone requires the base ID, but you do NOT want to clone a named NPC. It just leads to trouble. Glad you found a resolution, though.

You can set an NPC to essential with the setessential 1 command. For example, making Lydia immortal would use setessential a2c8e 1

Lydia doesn't have to be essential. She's never been.
