Need help with making skyrim run better xbox 360.

So i want to clear my cache on xbox 360 but i want to know a process where it will not corrupt my saves. Someoen gave me a method to do this.
He said

1 Delete the installled skyrim from your hardrive and make sure the disc is out.

2 Next, clear cache then put in the skyrim disc.

3 Now play the skyrim disc and install the updates (because the updates would have been deleted) then go back to the dashboard and install skyrim.

Is this a good method to avoid corrupt saves and issues towards gameplay?
If there is a better way could you please post.

I've never had a problem with corrupted saves from clearing the cache. When I have cleared the cache it fixed my problem sometimes. The main game I've had problems with is Halo.

That's clearing the system cache, and requires re-download of updates. You can also clear the game cache, hold right bumper, left bumper and x on initial start up until you hear the HDD going yampy.
