I can't, for some reason, get Raul to use a gun. Most of the time he runs around and punches people, the rest he just cowers away in fear. I've already put a Hunting Rifle and Sawed-Off Shotgun in his inventory, but he still won't use them. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Did you give him ammo?

Try switching him to melee and back to ranged; sometime the followers bugout and switch to melee and get stuck on it, even if you've told them to stay ranged.

Yeah I gave him ammo and I've tried switching form Melee to Ranged and still nothing.

Maybe try giving him some lever action guns or revolvers.

Give him the unique Plasma Rifle and a lot of ammo and watch it all go to waste.
