need to increase my FPS

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 3:47 am

My FPS in locked areas such as cities is about 25-30-35 (it alwayas drops from the highest to lowest limit and back on all the time), and outdoors my fps is something like 12-15-20((( Which is the reason why my trees won't sway, and that is pretty sad really. So if you have any idea how to increase my fps, write it here please

my laptop configs are:
OS: Windows 7 Proffessional 64-bit
RAM: 4 GB (3.85 GB available)
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2410M 2.30GHz
Videocard: Nvidia GT 540M 1024MB

In fact, I changed my .ini configs a bit, you know, to increase trees and details fade distance, but if there's any way to avoid lowering those values, please tell me

P.S. After downloading a new driver for my GPU, Skyrim set my graphic presets to high (it was medium before that, then my fps was about 25-30 in open spaces, can't tell you more, I didn't have FRAPS then)

Try my mod... :dry:

Yep. The shadows svck in this game so remove them with this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16464

If you have any Hi-res tex then use: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801

FOV has quite a large impact on fps so lower it, no lower then 50 mind or the game is *le svck*.
In Skyrim console type "fov 50" and then save and quit.

Now in SkyrimPrefs.ini add:
fDefaultFOV=50 under [General]

And in Skyrim.ini add:
fDefaultWorldFOV=65 (65 is fps freindly, lower the better)
fDefault1stPersonFOV=50 under [Display]

Turn off any AA or Transparency AA and use SMAA.
Add this to the Skyrim.ini:
[lightingshader]
fSpecularLODFadeEnd=0.0050
fSpecularLODFadeStart=0.0025

Might give you 15 fps or more using the above.

Nope, I've tried everything altogether (except for the shadows, I already have them medium, despite the way they look, I want them to be in the game :) And I had not antialiasing to turn off, it is already off, both AA and FXAA, along with Anisotropic filter): I changed the sight angle and added the lighting shader lines, my FPS slightly increased (no more then 3-5 frames) in closed areas like Solitude and it's the same way low in open areas, like the Falkreath Hold( The real change I saw was objects becoming sharper in an annoying way you know, indented, it's especially well seen at the floating images on the loading screen
