I need something on the internet to do for the next few days

Post » Wed Aug 22, 2012 11:46 pm

I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, and having never had anything stronger than Ibuprofen, the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-500 (don't know what that means, its just what they gave me) is making me a little... off (not to mention the frequent vomiting, which they did not warn me about).

Heres a picture of the teeth they pulled, said a few were impacted.
(Don't view this if blood doesn't sit right with you.)

I have rather large hands, so put that into the equation.

So being said, I need something on the internet to do.
Preferably watching videos that are funny, I just don't know anything to watch.

I have my PC hooked up to my HDTV and am laying on my couch, so gaming isn't all that easy.
And theres not much to watch on TV.

Heres everything I HAVE watched.

-All the RoosterTeeth Stuff
-Everything HatFilms
-Every episode of a certain pony show
-All the Two Best Friends Play
-Seen all the AVGN episodes
-Everything that I like on MondoMedia (Most notably dike Figures and Gundarr, everything else I don't care for much)

Gotta Go puke, thanks for the suggestions.

If you have Netflix, lots of old comedy TV series on there, as well some 60-90 minute comedy "concert" type vids.

YouTube ... well, I always go for the funny/cute/bizarre cat videos, since they seem to be ever endless, but not everyone likes that. Don't have any specific links for other stuff tho...at least nothing that would svck up a lot of time.
If you haven't seen them yet, the redlettermedia reviews are always a good time-waster (beyond the Plinkett ones...Half-In-the-Bag reviews are often at least somewhat, lightly amusing).

WOHA WOAH WOHA
If you're allergic to the pain killer, you really REALLY need to get back with your dentist immediately. Vomiting while you are healing can cause SEROUS problems. Infection, breaking stitches, dry socket.... just to name a few.

Hmm.

A bit of healthy paranoya has never killed anyone, so I say listen to this advice OP.

Nausea and some vomiting is an actual side-effect of Hydrocodone for some people and may not be cause for alarm, medicinally speaking. However, if vomiting is truly severe/frequent, telling your doctor and getting them to try something else instead is recommended.

Don't drink booze when on it, btw.

Right, but vomiting when you have big old pits or stitches in your gums can be a problem. It's not so much the vomiting that is the issue, it is the vomit pouring out over his healing wounds.

Meh....I ate tons of food without brushing my teeth any more than normal, while my wisdom teeth wounds were healing. The mouth seems a lot more resilient in that regard (wounds healing despite a lot of "stuff" going on in there).
So if he's largely dry-heaving at this point, not too big a deal. They close up/heal very fast...and the stitches are not the sort where jaw open/closing motion is going to affect them too much. I's assume they used those dissolving stitches too. I don't know what level they did in there, of course. Hence why I said it was recommended to try something else if it's truly that bad.

For some people the whole experience is easy like you described, but for others it can be a rough experience that is periodically punctuated by long episodes of pain, blood, and gauze. For people even remotely like that, I'd still bet that it isn't good to be constantly retching over an allergy to your painkillers, for all the reasons FallenAzraelx mentioned.

And even if constant vomiting doesn't pose any serious health issues to the OP, it probably wouldn't hurt to check up with his dentist if only to identify a painkiller that he doesn't find so... reactive.
