I never felt so bad for a NPC in my skyrim life

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:37 am

I was doing a thieves guild quest when I stumble across http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Mistwatch as I was heading for Riften. I decided to peak in to see how many bandits I can kill, and to possibly get my destruction magic to 100. I came across a poor ole man named http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Christerwho begged me to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Search_Mistwatch_for_Fjola named http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Fjola and so I accepted. I killed many bandits and as I came to the The East Mistwatch Tower where I encountered another woman bandit but this time it was the leader. I started talking to her and found out that her name was Fiola. she tells me this story, and I was like WTF. She gave me her wedding band and told me to get rid of Christer, but not in a violent way. I told this poor soul that she was here and that she left her wedding band. He thanked me and gave me some gold.

Damn even in Skyrim women can break a poor mans heart :( After all this time I played Skyrim this is the first time I've ever felt sorry for a NPC.

I didn't feel that bad for that dude, but I felt pretty bad about the suicide note of Tova Shatter-Shield.

This.

I felt pretty guilty after reading the suicide note.

I did feel kind of sorry for the guy, my hammer demanded justice for betrayal and lies, so I punished the woman. I must say my character is not some hero who does the right thing all the time, if I need to kill I kill, if I feel like someone wasn't fair to me I avenge. So I thought Christer would understand me, I thought I shared his feeling and anger for a moment. But guess what?! The bastard didn't believe me she was a ganker and wanted my blood.

There I learned either pay with gold or blood, I'm no softie in a cold world.

The first time I came across this quest, when I got to the top floor, I was looking away from the 'entrance' making sure I wasn't gonna get ambushed only to hear footsteps, I quickly turned towards them and dualcast blasted the 'boss' with several icicles until they fell into a crumpled heap on the floor. It was only after that I realized she was trying to talk to me.

Moral of the story? Don't sneak up on a trigger happy mage.

I never read it, but I refuse to take that part of the contract anymore. Even ruthless vampire cannibal assassins can have scruples, you know?

In one game, that's a quest I never finished. I told him what I needed to tell him so he'd leave because I felt he was better off without her and he could begin a new life but I never went back to her. That quest is still open in that game so she's just standing there waiting I guess. :tes:

I had just killed a Bandit Chief in some random cave... or rather, my follower and my familiar had killed him while I had been hiding in another corner of the room. So, I went ahead to loot his dead body - and that was when he suddenly started to talk.

"One last bottle of skooma... that's all I want", he whispered.

I'm not sure if he glitched, or if it was scripted. But it moved the anonymous "Bandit Chiefs" into the territory of "people who had a last wish before their death, and they didn't get it"... and this disturbed me.

I almost did exactly that, however at the time I had 2 powerful Ice Ascendant Necromancer's as my thralls ready to fight her if she made any sudden move.

LOLOL vampire cannibal assassin have scruples? This might be the statement of the year hahahahaha Or the end of Skyrim as we know it!

But yea, I really felt bad reading the suicide note as well and won't do that part of the quest now. I can live without Mairi's stupid ring LOL

As for the "kidnapped wife who turned bandit leader" - YOU GO GIRL! hahahahaha More power to ya! I'm glad she started talking to me, before I killed her! LOL

Speaking of Cannibals though and speaking of feeling bad (and sick :yuck: )... Namira's quest! I only did that once, never again! I just kill Eola now! (Sorry Dookie LOL)

Haha, my guy is just an opportunist, you know? He will do many things to become more powerful, but I saw no reason to kill her. Didn't benefit me much, so I declined. Plus, she lost her sister to a nutcase, so I felt kind of bad.

The OP's quest did surprise me and I did feel kind of bad for him.

Another one was the one where some woman wants me to stop her mother from becoming a Hagraven and we end up having to kill her mother.

Yea, I remember that one. I discovered that place with my 4th character! LOL I was like OMG I still haven't seen it all! And then Illia became my follower! At first I thought she would betray me at the end... yea, I also felt a bid sad for her, but man, who wants a Hagraven as mother? LOL

Opportunist eh? That's saying it lightly... cannibal vampire opportunist LOL But yea, I know what you mean. It's more of a psh, why should I trouble myself with that girl kinda thing, not because you felt bad for her! =p

Another 1 really got to me when I did a Darkbrother quest. A woman, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Muiri, who works for the hag in markarth who wanted me to kill Alain Dufont with an addition of Nilsine Shatter-Shield. I decided to break into the shatter-shield house later on (After I killed both) to find the dead body of Tova Shatter-Shield laying next to her bed with a suicide note beside her. After reading it I never felt so bad.

I wish I can talk people out of wanting to kill them. I know I'm suppose to be this hardcoe killer but still.

The first time I did that particular assassination I had already completed Blood on the Ice and had shaken her down for information (required by RP, usually I use the 'gentle' response), so my initial reaction when I found her later (TG job had me stealing from the place) was that I'd pushed her over the edge. Stopped me for a couple of seconds, which surprised me considering I'd ganked the other daughter on the way to the house and was prepared to kill both parents to leave no witnesses to the theft.

Then I saw and read the note, and chose to leave the father sleeping in the other room rather than take him out; he was, after all, needed alive in order to make the proper arrangements for her. Cold-blooded (literally, he's an Argonian) assassin though he was, said character had a family of his own in Black Marsh and empathized with the poor guy.

I made the habit of visiting Severio Pelagius to sell crops to him. When I was in Markarth, a courier ran up to me with a letter. I read it, only to visibly frown at my computer screen: this was a letter of inheritance; I was being informed of Serverio's death. To this day, I don't know how he died. I even returned to Pelagius farm, but his body was nowhere to be found. Poor fellow.

His body is most likely under the ground.

I mean it literally. If you're on PC, try to TCL your way under the ground. I've found that homeless guy in WIndhelm under the square lying lifeless

I left him there alone with his blind book with no one to take care of him.
I suppose I could have killed him but that just seemed too mercifull.

I felt sorry for the bloke as well. So when I told him she was dead and left, I went back up those stairs and bombarded her with fireballs and took her stuff. (I didn't want to lie to the poor man)

Does killing Fiola(?) with the Ebony Blade count for upgrading the weapon? or no. But yeah, what a miserable [censored] she was.

I found him pretty weak. He supposedly loves his wife who ran out on him yet he won't sneak past a few bandits to see if she's being held captive? Yeah, I'd call that a coward. I killed him and Fjola for wasting my time.
