New Bethesda Game Idea

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 12:36 pm

Does anyone think Bethesda should make a Plane Crash RPG/Survival game? I posted this under Skyrim because the game would be nice with the graphics and creators of Skyrim doing this game. I just think it would be a really fun game.

Don't steal my idea for a game! :D Although it's more of a sci-fi plane crash survival game. :P

Have to disagree, I am afraid. Bethesda do big open worlds, and player freedom, but not the npc depth or tight scripting something of this nature would need.

Yay! Haooy someone else has an idea like that. I just like RPG so you could create your own plane character and have a story to why you were on the plane. Buy yes, sci-fi too!

Sounds like something Spielberg might do... dinosaurs and space aliens.

Something like this wouldn't play to Bethesda's strengths. This means that they would tweak it to make the island massive and make you the most important person on it very quickly.

Let's add this to the collection of games Bethesda will not do just because a thread was posted about it. I understand this is just a "wouldn't it be cool?" thread, but what would be even cooler is if you went ahead and started making the game yourself. I guess we're both wishful thinkers.

Fallout 4 with the Enclave - the one and true United States government - as the protagonists.

The reason I'm not making it myself is because I DIDN'T GO TO COLLEGE AND STUDY VIDEO GAME DESIGNING. I posted here so hopefully someone important would see it and say it as an idea in some corporate meeting. I don't know. It was just an idea.

Yes, very true. But they could make that happen. Think about it, a huge island, one plane with lets say 350 people, and 60 survivors? You could quickly become leader if there's only that many people. They could make a way. Also if the plane split in half and one half landed on the other side of the island, that would make the survivor population higher or lower. So there could be a quest where they find your beach camp and the two groups meet again. Have you ever seen the TV show LOST? The is what I'm basing to off of, but not exactly like it. They made a LOST video game but it completely svcked!

And no, this doesn't sound very Bethesda'y at all. It plays to none of their strengths, and all of their weaknesses.

Sorry, this won't happen.

There was a decent article a while back about why video game ideas are worthless [from random people] and it went into a good amount of detail, but I can't find it nor do I remember the source. Maybe Cracked?

This comic sans comes up as a fancy joined up font on my phone and it is unbearable to read :(

Sounds like a good idea but not something Bethesda would be good at

I appear to be immune to comic sans.

OT: I haven't seen Lost and don't have much interest in ever watching it. What I meant is that Bethesda could do it, but it would just be an action fest and would make it your purpose to become the leader/dragonborn/find your father. I feel that a game like this would need very interesting and compelling characters, some moments that make you realize how lost(no pun intended) you all are and, if not an original one, then at least an interesting take on the plane/ship wrecked survivor story. None of this plays to Bethesda's strengths so they would undoubtedly find a way to put some guns on the island, possibly hidden in an underground bunker that contains an evil maniac that is going to cause a nuclear winter.

Okay, No more Comic Sans. But yeah, I see what you're saying. I only wanted Bethesda to do it because of their past with great RPG games and because of their Elder Scroll graphics, especially Skyrim. Thought it might look nice.
