I was just playing through, and I had a new quest in Windhelm, where I had to talk to a guy called Johral or something like that, and he told me of a dragon in Bonestrewn Crest. I went there, and I swear my game just practically blew up.

The dragon was flying backwards, there was immense lag, the dragon's unkillable, I'm afraid that all dragons are going to be like this in my version and I don't want to re-restart.

So is this a bug with the new patch, or is this common?

Backwards flying dragons aren't new. although I still haven't been affected by that as of yet.

It's a common bug in the new patch. Apparently, Beth is working on it. Unfortunately, I now cannot continue the main quest of my character because of a bug when I first go to meet the Greybeards. (However I opted not to install the 1.2 patch beforehand)

I heard there was some issue at bonestrewn quest, but no issues here.

Same thing happend to me, but mine got stuck in the sky. I just ran away and everything was fine.

Same thing just happened to me. Wanted to get some Skyrim before work, got the bounty on the Dragon at Bonestrewn. The map showed the area was cleared, but it was one I hadn't found yet ?!?? How could it be cleared if I hadn't found it yet?

I get to the Giant/Mammoth camp near by, and find a dragon there. Kill it, then make my way to Bonestrewn. I get the shout from the stone, and then the dragon shows up. Just stays up in the air, flying backwards and doing dumb dragon stuff.

Guess I will abandon this until it gets patched.

lol. I am glad I just stopped playing altogether until CK is out and they actually fix their game instead of making it worse. Bethesda. lol This company is becoming more well known for there bugs then what games they make.
