New Content: Rise of the Dead

Post » Sat Oct 27, 2012 9:11 am

I would love to see a new downloadable content that would be something like this:

Secret cult of necromancers have made the perfect plague, a disease that spreads by people getting bitten by a zombie.
Details, details, bla bla bla, as far as I know - they took a woman from a village and did awful things to her, she died and
came back as a zombie. Most of the necromancers died as they did not expect her to rise back as dead.
So in their bed sleeping, one by one - almost all of them got infected. Some died faster then others.

Journals to be found, details, horror horror, bla bla bla.

And if you get bitten, you get high fever and dies (need some new animations for this).
After 1 minute to 72 hours, the dead person turns into a zombie.

Their dead walking animation should be very slow and almost like they are drunk but if they see you, they will run
like a rabid wolf toward you.

And there could be a potion made with some specific herbs you could give to
these people that was bitten, to save them from dying and turning into a zombie.

What do you think of my idea? :woot:

Imagine 80-90% of the population of Skyrim has turned into zombies, every town and village, all zombies.
Maybe a few found shelter somewhere in the town, locked inside, barely surviving and you must free them.

Now, it's just you and your wife, kids and dog - in your cabin in the woods, surviving.
Hunting for deer and rabbits at daytime, before the zombies get them.

Why would I want to imagine something like that?

Ewww... No. We don't need anymore of this over saturation of zombies in Skyrim. Leave that to everything else.

And while they're pandering to fads, they should make vampire lords sparkle. And replace horses with ponies.

We?
Now that is a over used word.

Perhaps you don't need it. But we are all free to speak our mind and if you do, please say it's your opinion and not everyone else's opinion.
Leave that to them, to speak their mind.

I know there are some people who would like this, so why not. If this topic isn't your thing, that's okey, you spoke your mind. Cheers.

To be honest, I thought this to be a joke.
Come on, friend. There are zombie games out there, aren't they? Leave our Skyrim alone. Please? :ermm:

There should also be a DLC that makes Nazis attack Skyrim.

personally i wouldnt care if they did put this in only if it was seperate kind of like Undead Nightmare is from Red Dead Redemption
however, that being said i would rather them use their resources on different things that more people would enjoy

No, I think the Second Great War should be dealt with in the next TES game. :P

Please stop turning this topic into "I don't like what you like!"
Just because you don't agree with my opinion and don't like my opinion,
doesn't mean you can tell me that my idea is a joke and be disrespectful.

So you don't like my idea, read something else. Don't come here and say I should shut up, pretty much.

I asked you a question: aren't there games out there much better suited to your specific zombie taste?
You do just copy and paste the very things other games are doing and then call it a DLC idea?
Oh come one. I don't want to be rude, believe me, but... come on! It's absurd. Sorry, really. Don't be that offended.

Let's try it that way: do you think that idea got any chance of being implemented?

You are just rude and disrespectful.

You already have zombies in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and you already have necromancers so what is up with your questions.
You ask questions that has nothing to do with anything and everything to do with anything.

Just stop.

"Though Zombies do return in Skyrim they are different than those seen in Oblivion. They are not separate creatures but are instead recently dead bodies that are resurrected by the player, or NPCs, with a conjuration spell. Due to the fact that there is no longer a ban on necromancy the resurrection of a dead body is no longer illegal."

So how way off the grid am I, by suggestion a plague caused by necromancers?

I'm not offended just amazed of your questions and how you wanted me to defend my opinion and back it up, you even went so far calling my opinion a joke.
You should know better when you act like you know it all.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Vampire fan in TES (been playing as Vamps since Daggerfall), but haven't we done enough with the Undead for this chapter of The Elder Scrolls, OP?

I mean, if Bethesda is going to keep releasing DLC for Skyrim, I don't think I want to see another undead focused DLC until TES VI. We don't want to burn out the public or make them think that TES is all about undead...

I am very well aware of the Lore.
There are zombies in the lore, but Bethesda would never destroy the Skyrim lore by such an... event.

No thanks.

I don't mind zombies as an enemy type in the TES series, but anything more than that just doesn't interest me at all.

I want more fantasy from TES. Not more vampires, werewolves and zombie outbreaks.

If you want a DLC that turns the major characters of a game's storyline into zombies, may I suggest Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare? It's a good DLC, completely separate from the story of the original game, and works very well.

On the subject of "Rise of the Dead," however...

Sorry, but this idea seriously has absolutely no appeal to me whatsoever. Skyrim's underpopulated enough as it is. The last thing I want to see is a DLC that just turns them into boring, mindless zombies.

Just because you don't agree with my opinion and don't like my opinion, doesn't mean you can tell me that my idea is a joke and be disrespectful.

I think we can when you open yourself up to it:

What do you think of my idea? :woot:

If people are telling you they think your idea is dumb/a joke/unoriginal/whatever else, it's only because you asked them for their opinions.

There are zombies in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you summon them by using a Conjuration spell on someone dead.

Now my suggestion was that there would be a secret cult of necromancers, then a plague, an event.
So I had the idea, that those who would like this idea, would discuss it with me and others.

I did not expect that people who disliked the idea to waste so much of their precious time shooting down

an idea that they thought in the first place, was just a bad idea.

If people are telling you they think your idea is dumb/a joke/unoriginal/whatever else, it's only because you asked them for their opinions.
One post is enough to get that opinion out, that my idea is a joke or unoriginal.
To start trying to make me look dumb or just trying to make me look like joke, that is something else.

Do I really need to answer if I know there are other games out there that has zombies in them?
Do people know that there are other games out there that has sword and magic?
Or just have bandits in them?

This is something that could be added as a mod, and would be another one of those mods that I shake my head at and think "why, oh why did someone bother spending time creating this?".
So yeah, no thanks. I was interested when you mentioned necromancers, but then it turned out to be just another zombie-horror thing.
But a necromancers guild you can join... Now that'd be interesting. Just no plague that causes people to eat their own brain and use it as fuel when they rocket themselves to the moons.

I did not expect that people who disliked the idea to waste so much of their precious time shooting down
an idea that they thought in the first place, was just a bad idea.
So far it pales in comparison to other threads around here. Such as attributes and bananas being imported from Elsweyr as a DLC quest.
