New DLC with all of tamriel

Post » Tue Aug 14, 2012 1:27 am

I have been reading various sites and watching videos on youtube and many show that there are whole landmasses of cyrodil marrowind and possibly the rest of tamriel in skyrim just not accesible by anything but console comands and these land masses are accurate and have a surprising amount of detail for something people shouldnt be able to see so i beleive these are the seeds for a new dlc pack there were some seeds for dawngaurd of the castle of the vampire lords and possibly fort dawngaurd but i am not aware of that but the point is dawngaurd came and possibly so will come this new dlc, i know marrowind was supposed to be destroyed but in 200 years it couldve been rebuilt , the imperial city tower can even be seen if you go far enough

I'd throw 150$ for that , but sadly it won't happen.
Maybe when they will release the last TES game ?

A DLC with all of tamriel. Very slim chance of that happening.

No, I think it will be a free add on like mounted combat.

Honestly, everyone seems to think that they will do a DLC within the lands of tamriel. I think that's WAAAY too much land to do in DLCs, and that they are saving it for TES VI anyway.

Here is my theory:

Bethesda has always supported it's modding community, and some of the more ambitious modders create entire new areas to explore. Well, wouldn't it be nice if the basic terrain for other parts of Tamriel were already made up to lore standards? See where I am getting at.

Actually, the landmasses aren't that detailed. It's all mostly just distant LOD meshes and textures. ie: It doesn't look so great at the sort of distances the game is actually played.

I've also seen no evidence on how much of it has collision. ie: How much is solid and can be walked upon.

There's no detail texture for different types of landscape, no road textures, no buildings other than a super low detail white gold tower.

Considering how long it takes to detail and populate a single province, not to mention doing the NPCs, dialogue, scripting, item placement, creature spawns, quests and other stuff like that. You certainly won't see even a single province DLC of Skyrim's scale, let alone one that does all of them, this side of the next game in the series.

And just to add, the surrounding provinces were present in Oblivion, and we got no DLC that added to those.

Or, the player can see very far down south if you look at the top of a large mountain to the south. maybe they needed to create the terrain so it actually looks like you are looking a long distance.

The download would take some time but the Tamrielic map is already finished for TES Online. Actually filling it with quests etc would take some time.

Look at Skyrim. It took many years to create. To create a whole Tamriel, create NPC-s, voice them, add quests to each region would be ridiculously difficult undertaking. It will never happen. Nor should it happen. I'd rather see next part of tamriel in a new game with new graphics and gameplay improvements.

Oh and welcome to the forums :)

well, the evidence is breathtaking! lets make all of Tamriel for the current generation Skyrim engine, great idea, then we'll never need to worry about another elder scrolls title again :D

They could, but given the normal timeframe with DLC, they might as well make an entire new game. It would be a bit unreasonable to demand that considering how long it took to just make one province (three years, plus two more in planning).

Also, I think the Skyrim DLC is leaning more towards past titles: start off smaller before building to one massive DLC expansion, at least I hope so. It's not as if DLC is the end of the world, there's always TES VI or Fallout 4 or whatever they're making next to look forward to. If they bring out Bloodmoon in the first DLC, then that creates higher expectations and more disappointment; although considering the build-up, Dawnguard was a little on the small side.

the only way I would consider getting this dlc would be if it weren't xbox exclusive... And if at least one Beth employee hand delivered it to my house
and built me a new deck when they got here.

that was mostly because dawnguard took over half a year to build and was overpriced.
