hey Guys,
I understand this isn't a PC support forum, however, it is an ESO related forum, which is my main purpose for building a PC. I also hope to keep it for a long time so that I can use it for upcoming PC games. (I will likely also purchase Xbox One) I think I am more excited about having my first gaming PC though. With that said I'm pretty confident I will go with an Intel i7 and a NVIDIA GPU, but I have a couple questions that I hope you guys could help me with..
Firstly, will games like ESO or the next TES be in 3D? I mean all these 3D GPU's and monitors is it really for like movie viewing?
If I am looking to buy a monitor, what should I be looking for? some have like 100,000,000:1 contrasts others have like 1000:1 in the case of many Samsung monitors. However, the samsungs have like a 250hz refresh rate in comparison to the LG's and ASUS that are like 60hz. I would think the refresh rate would matter more for gaming. Is this correct? But I would also really like to max out graphics so wouldn't contrast ratio play a role in some way?
I'm a little confused on exactly what SLI and 3-way SLI is? I think that it is when you want to power multiple GPU together is this correct?
I know SSD's are better to use, but how does it work? When I install the operating system Windows 7, I think I will avoid Windows 8, it runs from the hard drive, is that correct? So would it be smart to install the operating system to the SSD and then have the secondary storage as a regular 1tb harddrive? The SSD would make saving and operation of games faster and smoother is this correct?
I have real reservations about the maintenance on water cooling systems, are they really worth it or would it be best to just go with the traditional fan cooling systems to avoid any headaches. I know sometimes the newest bells and whistles aren't always really the best product.
I am thinking that I won't need a crazy PC to play ESO but at this point I'm working with a 4 year old factory laptop so that really isn't going to cut it, my turboboost is overheating just being on this website lol. I just saw all the potential with skyrim on PC and now that they are making ESO I have to do the game justice by using the correct equipment so please guys, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Adam
