Also will TES:O be shown at E3?

I would not be surprised.

I'll be honest and say here that Maria looks cute!
Didn't really concentrate on the actual interview that much tho lol.

C'mon be honest, who here thinks Maria is cute too

*Edit* ok the office looks very nice too. Ok and Nick Konkle sounds like someone who's very passionate with his job"

I liked Nick Konkle's comments about using rotations vs. using tactics:

We don't have any ultimates that are "you just hit this button and do a big chunk of damage," because that's a rotation and we are anti-rotation, we are pro tactics. You should do things because the enemy did something, or you're trying to set him up for a scenario, not because it's the thing I hit when this thing's on cooldown, or the thing I hit every time it comes up...

Instead of "Hey, we're both doing this same quest together, I'll use my rotation on the same monster that you use your rotation on and he'll die twice as fast," instead, it's "I'll do a different set of things, depending on what your class is and what my class is, than what I'm used to doing."

They mentioned different classes being able to change weapons depending on the range you are from your target. This leads me to believe that you will be able to do this in combat? If so, that adds another level of tactics.

Well, I have to say, despite the third person view and hotbar-ish way, AND the art style from the few pictures, I am slowly becomming converted, not quite there yet like NO HOUSING!!, but getting there. Slightly more optimistic now.

I realy like the way that combat seems to be implemented. I find that my mind sometimes wanders during combat in most mmos I have played. It sounds like my mind will be much more engaged while fighting in TESO.

in wow for example i have fallen asleep on several occasions actually

Just once I'd like to see a woman from a game's development team to show up in a video like this and and people to start talking about her actual qualifications rather than her *ahem* "qualifications". (Though, hey, for my perspective, Nick isn't too bad-looking himself... )

 Seriously, though, for the actual topic... hm. That system ought to be interesting. Tactical combat's always a good thing, of course, and this looks like it'll be interesting and possibly a bit challenging without flying past my skill level. Though I like to occasionally let a fight go by itself while I relax/chat/keep an eye on dinner I'm cooking/whatever, but I can just, you know, not fight during those times instead without being bothered too much, and a good enough combat system would more, more than make up for that. :)

This all sounds awesome if implemented the right way. I can't wait to see some gameplay at E3.

Stop using generic class names like rogue and warrior and Mage! Just give us the real classes already!

Is Brian Wheeler the same one that helped develop Warhammer Online? That name sounds so familiar and I swear he and I went back and forth so much on the WAR Beta forums for different issues with CC. I will have to look it up.

EDIT: Yep, looks like the same guy! Good things are in store for this game.

Unfortunately I tried all of these, and still nothing worked.

Oh well. Thanks, anyway.

Lol I saw a friend one day falling asleep tanking a huge boss and all the "raid" was wiped out. Of course we let them keep the sleep, it was so funny! All the raid killed and insulting him

Also, they didn't talk too much about healing. They definitely implied the presence of full time healers (which is personally FANTASTIC for me ) but not necessarily how they work different in TESO. I'm definitely interested to hear how they'll make healing "more personal" beyond the mention of the healing rain spell which... could be good.

Otherwise, I would love to see healer roles again -- especially in raids (group/aoe heals, hots, tank heals). Obviously not enough here to talk about in regards to that... but once I hear that information, I'll be 100% sold

(who am I kidding? I'm already sold)

Yeah, I would like to know HOW each player is responsible for their own survival. With only 3 abilities to choose from, im assuming we don't have to waste an ability on a 'cure', so we'll have another bar somewhere to click on 'health potion'? If someone else caught this being explained please share, thanks.

They mentioned different classes being able to change weapons depending on the range you are from your target. This leads me to believe that you will be able to do this in combat? If so, that adds another level of tactics.

I was very curious about this as well. They did mention switching weapons, though quite briefly. My ears were pricked waiting for more news on this subject, but nothing came. I wanna know when/what/where you can switch weapons. (Can I switch between a fire staff and an ice staff?) Does the target have to be at least ten feet away in order for me to switch? Do I get a different set of abilities with the other weapon set up?

I have friends who actually love this meditative state while slaying mobs in MMOs. Even if the combat is more engaging, I hope there are some mechanics that will give them that experience, maybe fishing or something like that. :D

And Maria seems very qualified.

I really love these videos, and the girls/guys at ZeniMax Online! They're all so great. I actually got excited when Paul Sage walked by the table at 8.45ish. Kinda hoped he'd wave at the camera, but he didn't. :(

Anywho, I'll have to go rewatch the videos, didn't fully pay attention. It might have been my early morning G&T, it might have been Maria's ivory skin. Or both. Probably both.

I can't wait till this game gets out!

I'll go rewatch now. In a... non-creepy way, mind you.

:foodndrink:

(Though, hey, for my perspective, Nick isn't too bad-looking himself... )

I'll be honest and agree with you there :D he resembles the guy who played Stallone's "partner" in 'Tango & Cash". Not that I can recall his name. ...Val Kilmer?
