New guild idea, do I get a cookie?

In TES I am annoyed by the lack of non-combat employment aspects for the PC. The Bard's College was a tremendous amount of wasted potential. But, after doing the acting quest in Morrowind, I thought, why not join a traveling Actor's Troupe? Complete with studying your lines to get them right, little wagons that would ride you around, different acting vocations or you could be hired as a guard instead, and the caravan could be attacked occasionally. For example, you could be:

A bard, reciting poetry.
A fool.
A stage actor.
Caravan guard.

This would be all the better with real time carriage travel and actual carriages in the caravan.

So, cookie or rotten tomatoe?

I believe these forums deals in fishsticks.

I think Elderscrolls games generally skew towards guilds with epic feelings.

if it were bethesda this troupe would somehow be tied to some daedric god and this troupe is somehow critical to the status quo of tamriel.

Real time carriage guarding? This sounds a little dull and tiresome.

Hmm, I suppose so. I was more thinking of riding in a gypsy wagon through Elsweyr rather than guarding it. I don't think that would be to bad, and I hope that if they do add real time carriages it will be optional anyway. Perhaps there would be a random chance to load in route to you destination instead of at it, and be attacked.

Anything in Elsweyr would be cool. A DLC where you're a freaking floor-scrubber in Elsweyr would be cool. Because CATS MAKE EVERYTHING COOLER!!

But I'd also love to see more 'dull and tiresome' things like this. Skyrim isn't all about running around killing things, it's about the character. I've had a character spend the entire day cutting wood in Riverwood, and I actually really enjoyed it. By the end of it, he could afford a new sword and headed to Whiterun.

Hey, that's cool man, though "I don't like this because x" would have been appreciated.

And yeah Solitudian, I'd be all for earning a living by riding alongside a caravan to earn a living honestly. It's just the kind of thing that fits my role playing.

Very true. One thing I'd also love is the ability to use the farming animations to pick crops. So our characters could earn a living as farmhands, or perhaps even purchase their own farms.

I think these ideas appeal almost exclusively to roleplayers ;)

And the player raids dungeons instead of acting, but is still somehow some pseudo-prophesized hero of the guild. And then becomes the playwright/director in three days.

I'd love to see something like this done properly (without dungeon raiding and all that jazz), though.

I play hunters fairly often, as pelts and leathers are worth trading in, but farming isn't something I've really broken into yet. I know you can grow ingredients at least with Hearthfire, but as I said I haven't tried vegetables.

I'd settle for the existing guilds being done properly. Like not being some lazily thrown together crap story full of ridiculous plot holes serving as an excuse for a bunch of dungeon crawls. Though at least the DB does manage to have some emphasis on assassinating people.
