New Guns In Honest Hearts ?

Post » Sun Jan 16, 2011 1:18 am

Ah yes...what Frank Hamer used to put down Bonnie and Clyde.

wow good memory, nice an obscure. Like to see some more weapons for the .308 caliber. Already agree that something like auto in the .50 would be sweet, but way overpowered for anything in New Vegas. Need tougher opponents. Hopefully the DLC's will provide.

I really want a Tommy Gum

i'm aware that there is the Laser RCW but a proper 'Tommy Gun' style machine gun, that would be great =)

1911 is pretty much confirmed, it would be cool to have an actual Thompson. It would give more of a reason to introduce .45acp ammo too considering they both use it. And like someone else mentioned a Laser 'handcannon' type weapon would be interesting. Short of the Gauss Rifle and the Laser Rifle with a scope are there any sniper rifles in the energy weapons catagory?

I'd like to see an Auto assault 12 full auto shotgun with FRAG-12s, but i'd settle with a usas-12.

Dead money's weapons were a disappointment except holorifle and autorifle

I loved the Bear-Trap Fist, Cosmic knife, Knife Spear and Explosive Charge, all good weapons to me.
Only one that svcked was the Policia Pistolera.

I'm thinking we'll be getting new Browning guns, it is Utah after all. Maybe an M2?

This game needs a proper M2. The AMR was nice, but when I see .50, I want belt fed. Not nearly as broken as one thinks, when you consider how much it would cost to feed the thing after a night of rock n' roll.

I hope they bring back the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Ryder_LE_BB_gun

That was one kick ass BB gun! :woot:

The Abilene Kid LE BB Gun is intended to be the spiritual successor to the Red Ryder LE.

I'd like it if melee weapons got some love as well. We're talking about tribals men. You don't see shoop-da-whoop in a brahmin skin tent.

If they bring in the .45 round for the 1911, they had better bring in that other EXTREMELY famous gun that uses that round. You know the one, the TOMMY GUN. Since it's already technically in the game with the laser rtw.

GGGGGAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I accidentally closed out so I'm typing this again....:( Oh well

While bearing in mind the "forever '50s" feel and realizing the futuristic weapons seem to begin where the early AR-style weapons end, I would like to see one or two classic long guns like the Mosin Nagant 91/30 with bayonet. That would make for a great strategic change if they could implement a melee command for that specific gun (or any others that would serve similar dual purposes). They wouldn't have to get as realistic as offering up a new ammo type as well (the Mosin is an odd 7.62x54r, or Rimmed) because I think .308 would suffice.

It would also be fresh/comical if the courier stumbled upon a museum of sorts and could find such items as a mace, a crossbow or longbow, maybe a lance, and some chainmail. I'm not really a medieval Oblivion-type RPG fan, but in the spirit of fun I could dig that especially if the "knight" whipped out a 9mm at any given moment :D

Also, for some reason, a really powerful .50+ muzzleloader sounds like it would be a BLAST...better take that quick reload perk!

This is Utah we're talking here. It's a Browning state. Here's a list of some of Browning's more recognizable designs. Firearm designs of his already in the game are highlighted:

U.S. M1895 Colt-Browning machine gun
FN Browning M1899/M1900
Colt Model 1900
Colt Model 1902
Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer (.38 ACP)
Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless (.32 ACP)
Colt Model 1905
Remington Model 8 (1906), a long recoil semi-automatic rifle
Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket (.25 ACP)
Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless (.380 ACP)
FN Model 1910
U.S. M1911 pistol (.45 ACP)
Colt Woodsman pistol
Winchester Model 1885 falling-block single shot rifle
Winchester Model 1886 lever-action repeating rifle
Winchester Model 1887 lever-action repeating shotgun
Winchester Model 1890 slide-action repeating rifle (.22)
Winchester Model 1892 lever-action repeating rifle
Winchester Model 1894 lever-action repeating rifle
Winchester Model 1895 lever-action repeating rifle
Winchester Model 1897 pump-action repeating shotgun
Browning Auto-5 long recoil semi-automatic shotgun
U.S. M1917 water-cooled machine gun
U.S. M1919 air-cooled machine gun
U.S. M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR)
U.S. M2 .50-caliber heavy machine gun of 1921
Remington Model 8 semi-auto rifle
Remington Model 24 semi-auto rifle (.22) Also produced by Browning Firearms (as the SA-22) and several others
Browning Hi-Power (Grand Puissance or GP), the standard sidearm of many military and police forces
The Browning Superposed over/under shotgun was designed by John Browning in 1922 and entered production in 1931

Which ones are left? Lots to choose from, folks.

-Gunny out.

My grandfather has a Model 8 in .30 Remington, it's a pain to get ammo for it as the only people that make it are on the east coast.

I just named those  And they don't really feel like sniper rifles to me..Laser Rifle isn't a sniper rifle, and I guess the other ones are gonna be the closest we get to energy sniper rifles..

I just noticed the Winchester model 1900's not on that list. Pump-action .22 rifle. They made tons of those. Nice little gun.

I'd love some Flintlock weapons for the tribals.
Ammo would be easy to make, you'd just need scrap metal and powder.

Bah, way too new tech. We should be able to loot a 15th century cannon and fire cannonballs from the hip with it like a real man.

Every DLC has at least one useful weapon. But, having a .45 would be a nice change; after all, running into the casino with a .44 doesn't cut it, now a .45, that is different.

Gunstock clubs are pretty neat. Kinda like an upgraded nailboard.
