Having played the game for about 25 short minutes at Eurogamer, I can tell you that stopping is a lot easier said than done :)

EDIT: Sorry OP, forgot to say thanks!

Agreed. There's one guy doing a good job making all the perk trees, but he's sleeping right now.
Someone just needs to take one for the team and give us all the info.

Ideal for a necromancer or conjurer build... maybe during my second playthrough :)

It looks like each race is going to have one +10 in something and a set of +5s.

Yep. One skill +10, five skills +5, giving a total starting skill pool of 305.

Pretty sure that's how Oblivion and Morrowind worked as well. Glad they're sticking with that.

In Oblivion some of the races had +10 in up to three skills. But there were more skills in Oblivion, so this makes sense for Skyrim.

Since im playing a Breton without any kind of magic the skill bonuses is pretty worthless for me.

Well well, at least I'll get the resist shock and absorb spell bonus.

Yeah, but they still had the same total Skill pool, regardless of whether it was three +10s and two +5s, or ten +5s.

That could be very big actually, that would be a significant bonus. It would mean that with the restoration perks you could be 55% resistant to magic without any gear

You must be able to get good enchantments, which basically means you could get a totally magic resistant character

I wonder if it's correct?

Yes, this is how it worked in Oblivion to a T. It is why bretons made the best witch-killers.

I wonder if Bretons will start of with a bonus Conjuration spell then, since they start with an apprentice skill level...

It isn't, from every source I've read it said that Shock is 25% resist, and the Absorb spell is a once a day power. Must be a mistake on the site.

On Topic: I really like the Bretons starting skill set. A lot of the skill bonuses they get are the skills I'm specializing in. Too bad I don't wanna play a Breton.

Nothing specific, but in previous games characters who start off with a higher skill level in one of the spell skills get additional spells to reflect that. Granted those spells were given because that skill had been chosen as a major skill, which is something we don't chose now.

Their +10 is probably +10 to speechcraft, though...I've little to no idea what their +5's will be.

Surprised about the speech bonus. I would have thought enchanting would have made more sense.
