Thing that struck me the hardest, NO arena or E-sport aspect in ESO.

Yay! That means the focus of PvP will remain on the AvA instead of small scale pvp that does nothing to effect the world.

Perhaps my sadness is a bit premature. No Esport aspec to the game is fine. Competitive PvP is still a huge draw for me and my guild. I dont expect this type of game to have it at launch, but im hoping there is at least leaderboards for PvP and not just who has most kills.

Really glad to hear they're not going to break their back trying to be an e-sport. That [censored] ruined WoW's PvP.

Yeah I'm happy about that too but Imo, the ESO combat is much more skill based than WoW and an arena type game in ESO could actually work.

this is exactly why i am so eager to see it in ESO. less abstract abilities needs less balancing. WoW arena is great, at times, but Wow isnt for me anymore and hasnt for last few years i have been retired. Competitive pvp is a must.

Hopefully the cash shop is just like it is in WoW. The only things you buy are mounts or pets. Honestly this is the best type of cash shop. I really hope to see nothing else in there besides cosmetic items.

Yah, who would want to experience the glorious excitement of achieving something, rather than a dull stagnant endless battle.

WoW's shop is good. He pretty much said it was gonna be for pets and stuff, but wouldn't go into any real detail.

Spoken like someone who has never captured a somethin in mass pvp and then held off a much large force to keep it.

False. I used to play endless AV's in vanilla WoW. I have also played TSW.

People want to feel as if they have accomplished something. They enjoy the thrill of victory. Winning a battle in an endless PvP hardly qualifies. You have merely won a small fight amongst countless others. That same thrill isn't there.

I am not against this type of battle, but the only way it will really work is if there are battlegrounds as well.
Otherwise people will quickly tire of it and never go. In fact, you might need higher incentives just so people are inclined to compete as opposed to farming the BGs.

Lol. AV and TSW are nothing like what the AvA is going to be like, those were just battlegrounds. Look up Lineage 2 and DAoC. 400 people holding off 1000+ due to smart and coordinated play. Constantly shifting battlefground taht isn't very predictable. You final statement has nothing to back it up.

"Elder Scrolls Multiplayer game instead of a traditional MMO"

They've said it in the past but I will never get tired of hearing this. By Stendarr's mercy I hope this is true.

Yah, actually it does. DAOC, despite what everyone obsessed about ESO seems to think, was a mediocre game that never really made it big.
Yes, it lasted a long time, and yes it is still going sub. It's a cheap game though, so its hardly a feat.
DAOC is a niche game!

GW2 flopped even harder.

Both of these had similar PvP, but thats only sufficient to maintain that niche market.

To be honest,
I fully predict this game to go free to play within 6 months. It just reeks of GW2 failure.
