Nice to finally get an idea about what Wild Wasteland trait does.... Nuke the fridge!

I think I know which trait I'll be picking.

a refrigerator that contains a bullwhip and hat

I'm so sold on Wacky Wasteland now. Nipton sounds like an awesome place. More awesome than anything I can remember from main game F3.

It's not October yet, is it? *sigh*

That doesn't look like the 14mm on the wiki page... To me the screenshot looks more like the 10mm from previous games.

Really? Because the only difference I see between those two pics is the clip; it went in front of the trigger in the old design, and I don't see it in the freeside pic. That could be a matter of it being cast in shadow, or it could be repositioned into the handle, but everything else looks like almost a carbon copy to me.

The ground textures on the ant picture look really nice.

Also:

Targeted body parts can sometimes be armored, which is represented by a shield icon. This makes some enemies harder to kill, of course.

Yea that's probably DT.

Is it just me or does that legion member actually have hairy arms? That's pretty cool.

DT?

Yes, that was the DT warning that he was seeing.

Take everything the reviewers/previewers say with a grain of salt. We (obsessive forum-dwellers) all know the game much more intimately than they do, so they're bound to use the wrong word or improperly explain new features. That has been the case with pretty much every preview.

So without that trait those items wouldn't be in the fridge?

Without the trait, you just wouldn't find the fridge.

My only concern with this trait, is why they would choose to include references to such a universally panned segment of the new movie. Wouldn't a better Indiana Jones reference have been from the earlier films, maybe someting like a Temple of Doom style handcart with the whip and hat, or the spike trap from Raiders?

Because it's the only real I LOVE NUCLEAR POWER!!! reference to Indy that you can make? ^_^

For example, you can play New Vegas with a willingness to come across a refrigerator that contains a bullwhip and hat — or you can play without worrying about seeing them.
This is a really creepy line for some reason. Overall I liked the review (for the new info it gave).

I wish the "Weird Wasteland" perk was an INI option or an option in the Options menu instead of a perk. Players could toggle it on or off.
This is part of the series, and [imo] cheapens the content in a way by making it optional (don't ask me to explain how exactly , its just that asking if its ok, seems a bit out of character for the series).

Though it is based on the 14mm Pistol of days gone by, we call it the 12.7mm Pistol.

JR Vosovic kept complaining there was no DEagle, so here's your Big Honkin' Semi-Auto Pistol™.

Thanks for the clarification. You can definitely see the family resemblance.

What about the drilled holes along the barrel?

The .223 pistol you linked to on the wiki, has vertical rectangles indented along the barrel, but no round holes.

Okay... nevermind... I had sleep in my eyes still...

You're right. That does look like Deckards pistol.... Rad find!

So we are definitely NOT getting the DEagle in NV?

I hate being that guy, but... this is based off of Deckards pistol: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/.223_pistol

The 14mm pistol is actually unique to Fallout.
