New Landmass?

Does Dawnguard add new landmass or just the castle? Does it add new dungeons to the pre existing landmass?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dawnguard is your best friend now. Also, if Dawnguard wouldn't add new stuff it wouldn't be an add-on.

^^What a charming reply....

You get the 2 new castles, the Soul Cairn, Snow Veil Sanctum and I think a few new caves as well

Isn't Snow Veil Sanctum in the vanilla game? Where is the Soul Cairn accessed from?

Soul cairn is accessed by portal in castle Volkihar ( not sure of spelling :P ) and only activates once you reach that part of the quest... you get a few new caves, like the one leading to the area fort dawnguard is in...the forgotten vale is a new area far to the north-north west...about the size, maybe a tad larger than blackreach...a lil advice...the Soul cairn requires a little patience compared to everywhere else in Skyrim, but is worth it.

Yes, it's already in regular Skyrim. What he meant was the Forgotten Vale
Spoiler
the ancient kingdom of the Snow Elves.

The Soul Cairn is accessed from
Spoiler
Castle Volkihar.

Thanks! Can you go back to Soul Cairn after the DLC is finished or is it a one time thing? Is that where most of the DLC takes place since there's only a few new dungeons?

Im not sure about if you Dwnguard..doubt it makes a difference but as team Harkon :P lolyou can return to the soul cairn once things are done.as well as any new place added... i know i have to go back to the forgotten vale...since thats where my VL will fall into a torpor and sleep untill something worthwhile wakes him up again :)

Yes they added new landmass but did they really add alot of new content in the landmasses, no. They are fun to explore but they have no meat on them so you explore enough you have seen it all.

they added some new dungeons to the game
one of them isn't finished yet, the dungeon is called Redwater den and the floor is missing in the entrance to the dungeon.

That's part of the vampire mq, btw.

I think the only new non-mq dungeon are the two specific to the Aetherium quests.

I appear to unable to complete this quest because the floor in the Redwater Den is missing when I went in about ten minutes ago.
