This should be in community discussion as this doesn't pertain to ESO.
It's F2P therefore it will only sell P2W items. So it will be a bad game.
Edit: And like Stormwinds said, this doesn't pertain to ESO at all.
Interesting. They had me at "Lovecraft" Sounds great, but I suspect it won't fly as described.
GMs will have to be volunteers or else they will have to sell a ton of items to keep the doors open. But that leads to abuse of power.
Killing important NPCs? Griefers will make that a priority.
I remember when they announced the original Fable. Didn't happen anywhere near what was described.
Also, I think this was inspired by the recent discussions on FFA PvP and thievery, so is borderline relevant.
"Gonzalez commented on the F2P aspects of his game: “The goal isn’t for me, as a designer, to try to plan and plot ways to maliciously take money away from players like a drug dealer like most F2P games. My job is to create a red light district of goodies for you. I will tempt you, but I’ll still let you play in my playground with open arms.”"
Just because an MMO is free to play and it sells P2W items does not make it a bad game. I won't mention the title I am talking about because I already have in numerous other threads however I really do love playing this MMO I am talking about and its free to play and yes they do sell P2W items...its just that its up to you if you buy them or not and there are ways to buy them without spending any real money what so ever...many players play this MMO and have never given the developer a dime of their own money and they enjoy the whole game in other ways though just not as quickly and as easy as someone who pays for it with real money.
I would be interested, but the F2P thing is a big turnoff. Still it sounds like the game has some cool ideas, perhaps it will spark some creativity by a bigger developer.
exactly ...f2p games a [censored]
in before close
most of them are, but you can't judge a book by its cover.
Looks cool enough to give a try.
But like most F2P games, It probably won't last long. Won't know till I try, though.
GW2 isn't really FTP. It may not have a subscription fee, but you still need to put down $50 just to get an account.
