New Model Import, 3DS Max 2012, NifConvert, ChunkMerge

Hi Everyone.

I have been trying to import new models into Skyrim for the past week with little success.

I'm using the following tools:
3DS Max 2012 - http://students.autodesk.com/?nd=home
Nifskope 1.1.10 RC7 revision 6d41868 - http://sourceforge.net/projects/niftools/files/nifskope/1.1.0/
Nif ex/im max plugin 3.7.3.fd27a94 - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5622/
NifConvert 0.1.53.0040 and ChunkMerge 0.1.53.0045 - https://github.com/skyfox69/NifUtils/downloads

I first followed this tutorial:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21065

Then I followed this tutorial:
http://www.xr3dmod.com/viewtopic.php?f=176&t=864

Both are excellent and helped me a ton!

However, the model I want to import is large, and I can't find a model that fits it best. Its first among many large models that i want to import. The one I will direct attention to here is an outer city wall, short segment. This is an early prototype. It's a Max 2012 .max file.

3DS Max 2012
A team member made a model of a wall, and gave it to me to import into the CK. I used the following settings.

No problems here. At least I don't think there are any.

NifConvert

Anytime I point to a template that has the bhkCollisionObject embedded in a NiNode such as in scastlewall08.nif, see image below

NifConvert, without fail, gives me this error.

If I use the model orclonghousepartitionwall01.nif, with its tree in the image below,

Its perfectly happy and gives me a successful conversion.

ChunkMerge
Now onto this little app.
When I put in the nif created by NifConvert into it with the following settings,

I get an error if the collision-file does not already exist.

But if I save to an existing file, everything is fine and i get a successful conversion.

I now proceed to copy over the BSLightingProperty branches over from my template Skyrim model onto my new nif.

The Creation Kit
I import this into the CK and all I get is the white exclamation point within the red square.

What am I doing wrong?

I think your error is that you didnt remove the NiMaterialProperty in Nifskope - If you leave it, your model wont show up ingame..

Good Luck!

p.s. by the way, with 3ds max 2012 export, you dont need NifConvert at all ! (you only need ChunkMerge for Collision)
