Nord - going for a silent archer/thief, but also a Nord not afraid to jump in melee combat and crack some skulls
Factions - Companions, Thief's guild, Dark Brotherhood
Doing Main quest line and Civil War with Stormcloaks and of course some side quest

Primary:
Archery
Sneak
Alchemy
Light Armor - might go heavy still not sure whats best for me yet (suggestions welcome to help me decide)

Secondary:
Restoration - cut cost of spells in half only (5 pts)
Pickpocket - extra pockets (4 pts)
Enchanting - duel enchantments (4 pts)
Speech - sell to anything to anyone (3 pts)

be around lvl 50-60 by the time i get all perks i want pending if if go 2hander or board and sword!

Now my biggest problem is should i 2 hander or board and sword for my melee? Please help me decide

any other suggestions welcome! Thank you

Just use one handed. It's going to be more convenient if you rely on Restoration. I've tried with two handed.. it's not bad, but a bit cumbersome. Besides that, you don't get any backstab perks for two handed (just basic sneak damage).

First question you might want to ask yourself is, if you go sword'n'board, how many perks are you gonna want or need to spend in the block tree? Some of the perks there would also apply to blocking with a weapon if you go 2H, but some don't. When I've played 2H I think the most I ever spent in block was the first rank of the first perk and that was just to unlock the perk in the middle directly above it. TBH I'm not sure I really needed either in the long run and it might have been better to spend those perks in 2H or my armor tree instead.

I find 2h most fun for Beserking through everything. With Light armor and mininal blocking. I love the Great Critical Charge.. sprinting and splitting people in two.

i dont think i would invest anything in block if i went 2hander, so far i am lvl 12 i think i have been using 2hander, but i been losing my health really fast, i always have to run away and use my restoration and health pots and im in heavy armor. i do not want to waste perk pts in both 1h and 2h, so i need to pick one soon.

it could be because my 2 hander is only at 34 and my archery is at 50, i could not resist the free training in riverwood :( but if that is why i am having a problem please let me know, or is it 2hander are really weak when it comes to stay alive, my duel wield never had problems so i was not sure.

So questions

1) 2h survivablity is poor or is just because i did the archery training in riverwood to 50 and i am not skilled enough for the lvl enemies im facing

2) should i stick with heavy armor or should i go light?

3) if i go light armor should i invest in smithing or does glass armor drop frequently later on?

4) any other suggestions or information
