New Player - Need help finding weapons

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:45 pm

I'm not a noob, I understand everything about the game so far. But I am level 5 and I don't have the best equipment. I understand that you can enchant your weapons to make them stronger, but I'm not so good with the whole process of having to gather certain items to do so and whereabouts to get them. So I was wondering, as a level 5 are there any secret places to get a really, really, good sword? I've been all over YouTube looking and the places people go have trolls that I can't fight yet, or a place that I can't get in because I haven't done a certain mission, ect. So for me to get a good head start I was wondering if there is a good sword that would make me a more advance level 5 then most people would be if you know what I mean.
Anyway if you can find me a video or tell me where to go I'd appreciate it.

If you could help me get to armor as well that would be nice.

Oh, I almost forgot. In terms of magic, do you gain new powers/new magic throughout the game or can you buy magic from people?

Ansilvund-Has the Ghost Blade Good on low levels as it ignores armor when doing damage-Near Shors Stone(Riften)
Frostmere Crypt-Has The Pale Blade,Has a good Frost and fear enchantment.(Near Lord stone and Hall of the Vigilant Easiest to reach from Whiterun)
Halted Stream Camp-Has Poachers Axe good against animals(near whiterun)
Volunruund-Has Eduj and Okin decent enchantments I don't remeber which enchantments though(Need to defeat a difficult boss to get it(suggest level 10+)-Its near Halted Stream camp
Valdr's Luck Dagger is a decent dagger for low levels to get it go to Falkreath inn and ask the innkeeper you'll get a misc objective follow it to obatin this.

My advice: take up smithing. The best weapons and armor in the game are the ones you make and improve on your own. Just don't overdo it, most enemies scale to your level, so if you train non-combat skills to level up quickly you might find yourself as a disadvantage for a while.

As for magic, no, you don't learn anything automatically. You can buy spells from general merchants (only low-level), court wizards in every major city and in the College of Winterhold.
