Good Evening folks,

I spent a good portion of my day today trying to come up with a new rig that I can build for under $2,000 dollars that will run TESO on ultra graphics. Please everyone let me know how you think it looks and if I can improve or allocate the money differently. I REALLY wanted to fit the GTX Titan into the rig but I couldn't make it fit by cutting corners elsewhere. If anyone has time I'd enjoy the input anyone can provide in regards to the build...AND yes I know the Titan would be an overkill but look it up! it is insane! In red I have my other options I was considering. Also I didn't include hardware I own already like a 2TB 7200RPM trunk, Razor Keyboard/mouse and 3 monitors LED (don't need to replace.)

I'd also really appreciate any open case designs people have heard of I like the open case look and airflow (and a handle). Some I have found are

The real question is when are you wanting to buy parts? Because a Titan or 780 will be discounted by November/December, especially for Black Friday & Cyber Monday. ESO won't be out for a while, so you have time to get better parts for cheaper. Heck, even the Titan Ultra or 800 series might be out by the time ESO rolls around.

New Haswell chipset and MSI Z87 are awesome, but I'd personally spend an extra $20 and get the ASUS Z87 Deluxe motherboard. More bells and whistles for just $20, plus their new BIOS is just SO awesome.

I have the standard edition Thermaltake Level 10 GT case, but I always liked the snow edition, its a solid case. TONS of airflow due due its massive interior and huge fans, though I'll be saving money to install a water cooling system at some point in the future.

Lastly, and this is PURELY just personal preference, I'm not a fan of Mushkin memory. I've had problems in the past with some of my first builds (I bought it because it was the cheapest), so I'd personally get a different brand. Ripjaw is usually what gamers prefer, but memory isn't really rocket science, they're mostly all the same.

But yeah, if you can wait until the end of the year, you can shave off a TON of money from your current part list, or build something better for not much more or possibly even cheaper.

I completely agree with you. I won't be buying until later so you're right on the money. The Thermaltake Level 10 has a water cooling package made for the case, I was considering that. Scores top 5 in Latency, Read/Write speeds, granted it is a fraction of the difference but it was also cheap. I'll look up ripjaw though. I'll also look into that mobo. Thanks for the recommendations. What day is this cyber sale you speak of? Is it the around the same time as black friday? I loathe walking around during black friday so a internet sale appeals to me much more.

Damn...2,000 isn't exactly a tough goal. My build was about 750-800 and I should be darn near ultra.

I'm obviously preparing for the future. I could easily spend 5k if I wanted too. I could build a box for 800 but.... I feel like making a real machine this go around.

Cyber Monday is the Monday right after Black Friday, this year that will be Dec. 2nd. Newegg has some amazing Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales. SO you'll be able to get all your parts without having to leave your house fo sho.

So, will the deals be starting after midnight going into the 2nd or?

Sweet. I know when ill be spending my money thanks. So is the airflow in the case good? What are your pros and cons on it?

Well I also forgot to mention that I got my graphics card for free (from a friend) as well as my memory (from a great deal.)

So I'd easily be over 1,000. Probably close to 1,200.

The deals will start around 12 am on the 2nd for Cyber Monday. Don't forget that Black Friday happens 1st though, so they may sell out of some stuff. But let's say you miss out on a some part you really wanted, all you have to do is wait like 3 more weeks and they have an end of the year sale! And its just as good as Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Well you have 4 fans in the stock case. It has 3 big 200mm fans, and a 140mm fan.

Front bottom: This fan is intake and will blow air over all 5 HD bays, as well well the bottom half of your case.

Side Panel: This is the fan that really shines. This fan will blow air wherever you want! It has a "lever" which will direct airflow either up or down, so you can get the maximum airflow on your MB or GPU.

Top: This fan will be your big exhaust fan.

Rear exhaust: Small 140mm fan that takes out heat. You'll really feel the heat being pumped out by sticking your hand around it.

These are the stock fans, though you can add more. There are a total of four 5.25 in bays on the front top area that could house another fan.

You can also put another one on the bottom floor area of the interior of the case (it was designed to do this).

All the stock fans, and the bottom floor area, have filters built into the chassis. You can easily remove and clean them. This is great for keeping dust out obviously. The side and bottom filters are push/spring loaded to pop out with ease. The top and front will require you to take a layer of the chassis. Super easy takes like not even 10 secs, then just snaps back on. Its like the top layer of computer skin I suppose.

It also has a 3.5 in bay for whatever you want to shove up in there.

The side panel is on a hinge, so you basically don't have to deal with thumb screws when you need access to you major components.

The interior is designed with cable management in mind. You can keep it CRAZY tidy up in there, thus allowing for better airflow.

The HD bays are sweet because they are hot swappable. Super simple to install and uninstall new/old HD's. Plug and play basically.

You have a set of keys that will lock the side panel and the HD bays, prevent anyone from opening them. Though, its not like a super awesome lock. If someone REALLY wanted to get in and get your parts, they could, this is just for like basic security for home or like gaming event/LAN party areas to prevent looky loos from opening your case.

It's a nice case, there are some things I don't like about it though.

Color shift on the fans are way to basic. Red, Green, or Blue. That's it. Though you can always install lights yourself I suppose.

There is a plastic strip that runs the length of the handle. Looks like its supposed to light up, but sadly its just for show.

Front headphone and mic jacks svck. Not sure if it's with all of them, or just mine; but I like to keep my front ports uncluttered anyway so I have everything plugged into the back.
